Phew, It’s been a busy month in the Wool Warehouse fabric room. After April’s wash out, May has brought out the sunshine, two whole bank holidays, and a bumper crop of new fabric ranges to share with you. Lets get into the good stuff!
Simply Nature
Legendary British textile designer William Morris has had a huge resurgence in popularity in recent years, and his iconic arts and crafts nature inspired designs have been popping up on everything from stationery, to homewares and fabrics.
Newly released in collaboration with the V&A museum, the ‘Simply Nature‘ quilting fabric collection from Craft Cotton Company features Morris’ iconic floral designs, re-imagined in a contemporary spring palette of gentle pinks, sky blues, and fresh greens. This lovely capsule collection of five prints will look right at home in an interior project, whether a simple cushion or an heirloom quilt, or will add a touch of Victorian class to a project bag or even a garment.

Roar!
Tula Pink’s latest show stopping collection Roar! burst onto our shelves this month and is going down a storm. Describing the inspiration for this release, Tula says:
“Everything that I do as a fabric designer is about indulging my childhood fantasies. I try to hold on to all of the things that we so easily let go of as we grow up, like wonder, amazement, creative logic and delight. Typically, dinosaur fabrics are for children and I don’t know who made that decision but I wildly disagree. Roar! is whimsical take on fancy dinosaurs for those of us who keep one foot firmly planted in fantasy”

Tula’s prehistoric landscape is drenched in her signature detail and wild use of bright colour. Here you will find a sophisticated T-Rex framed by topiary, a Triceratops out for a stroll on a winding path, hidden Raptors in a dainty damask, and Pterodactyls taking time to smell the flowers.
I’ve already spotted some amazing projects made up in these beauties, and if you’ve had your eye on our Instagram, you might have spotted Woolly Worker Annette whipping up a zipped pouch. She brilliantly combined her favourite prints from this range with a bright orange plush pompom trim and matching zip.

Do you like to match your tools to your fabric? We’ll be stocking the exclusive Tula Pink editions of the Oliso Smart Iron and Mini Project Iron this summer. As well as being perfectly designed with sewists and quilters in mind, they are bright pink and adorned with the goldfish from Tula’s previous hit collection ‘Besties‘! Head to our website here to find out more and sign up for an in stock email. We’re anticipating stock from the end of June 2024.
