For many of us crafters, projects for Christmas can easily fog the mind and while we’re absolutely loving our more seasonal stock at the moment, we couldn’t help but step away from the frost and into the forest, as we take a closer look at Liberty Fabrics’ Tree of Life.

No matter the time of year, Liberty Fabrics always excels in delivering a truly stunning collection.
Taken from their website, the inspiration for the collection finds itself:
“Rooted in the captivating aesthetics of Indian and Jacobean Palampore textiles, the tree of life-inspired collection for quilting pays homage to Liberty’s longstanding heritage of voyage and discovery.”
We love the added whimsy with the animals among the foliage, but the inspiration behind these designs may not be as simple as you’d first think.
They explain:
“From young sapling oaks and rustling leaves in woodland glades, to cascading branches adorned with fruit and blossoms, this collection is an ode to Liberty’s enduring admiration for these designs.
Even the carved wooden animals that have been watching over the Liberty store atrium since 1924 make an appearance, gracefully perched on winding branches or venturing through the landscape.”

There really is something for everyone within this collection and with the inclusion of animals and soft tones, we think this would look beautiful in a nursery, especially with the mix of florals! As per usual, it’s hard to pick our favourites, especially when looking at these beautifully intricate quilts, made by Liberty Fabrics themselves!

While Woodland Pastels and Berry Botanicals are two seriously stunning colourways, the Canopy Greens really do have our hearts this week! Thankfully, each design comes in all three variations, but we can’t resist the mix of jewel and desert tones featured here. Orchard Harvest, Somerset Hedgerow and the Arabella Tapestry really have stolen our hearts this month!
