Fabric Focus – At The Movies ๐ŸŽฌ

We’ve just got our foot in the door to 2025 and while we’re back at work, many of us are longing for a bit of rest again. So with keeping said rest at the forefront of our minds, we’re doing things a little differently for this first round of Fabric Focus.

Now, as always, we always encourage the makes, but this week’s inspirations come from having a day on the sofa while enjoying the last of the Christmas chocs. Grab your blankets and remotes – we’re heading to the movies!

We love a bit of nostalgia, so let’s kick things off with a couple of classic movies and their collections – let’s call it a Spielberg Special. In the words of founder John Hammond, Welcome to Jurassic Park!

With vibrant palms, prehistoric pals and motifs of the 1993 film throughout, the Jurassic Park collection is one for both dino-lovers and movie buffs alike.

To quote Dr. Ian Malcolm, “Life Finds A Way” and so will your makes. However, our favourite within the fabric room have to be the Film Icons; we love the little nods to the movie with John Hammond’s piece of amber and hat, Dr. Alan Grant’s red bandana and Dr. Ellie Sattler’s sunglasses.

Everyone’s favourite visitor is up next in for another from Craft Cotton Company in their E.T. collection!

Throwing it back to 1982, the range features many iconic moments from the film. Our top spot has to be the Movie Scenes fabric; it certainly brings back fond memories as we see Elliott and his new friend take a ride through the skies!

Others in the collection include Movie Badges and the Phone Home quotes constellations, but you can shop the full E.T. collection HERE.

We’ve also got some other classics in the warehouse, covering the creepy Nightmare On Elm Street, the classic Wizard Of Oz and the ultimate throwback in Back To The Future, alongside some out-of-this-world Star Wars fabric that will leave you questioning which side of the force you’re on.

When it comes to what’s shooting this year, Batman seems to be on everyone’s radar, so with that in mind, we thought we’d head into the DC Comics universe! With DC’s origins beginning on paper rather than screen, we’re always a fan of the classic comic strips and hand-drawn styles.

Our current favourites have to be the Batman Pop comic, where he’s certainly not to be messed with. Another one of our top picks stand with our fierce-yet-fabulous DC Heroines, as we’re shoulder-to-shoulder with Wonder Woman, Batgirl and Supergirl. Other designs include the Superman and Batman scatter logos, and both the Justice League Heroes and Heroines, with the full collection HERE.

That’s all for this week’s Fabric Focus and our trip to the movies! We hope you’ve enjoyed this one and, as ever, be sure to check back bi-weekly as we’ll be showcasing our favourites from the fabric department. In the meantime, make sure to tag us in your makes by using #WWCrafters and we’ll share some of our favourites over on our socials!
