Welcome to week one of the Spring in Bloom Crochet Along! We made it, finally!

So, what will happen for week one? You will be starting with the four centre flowers of the blanket, where you will be learning the Puff Stitch, Popcorn Stitch, and V Stitch.

If you have access to a printer, it would be worth printing off the Tips and Tools PDF here, as well as the pattern, as it will make it easier for you to work with the stitches and colour changes.
Alternatively, you could do what I did and write down the colours with their combining letter (Primrose Yellow – A for example). This way, it was easy for me to follow the colour chart once the I was working on my second, third and fourth flowers. Try and keep the pattern open, making sure to have a read through of it all properly before starting.
Our wonderful testers have thoroughly checked the pattern five times, each with different crochet tensions. For the best outcome, we encourage you to match the square measurements provided. Also, a little tip: keep those yarn ends relatively short – it will make your life much easier in the weeks to come!

If you have any questions, you can always email Helen on emkatcrochet@gmail.com, or ask Helen in our Craft and Chat group for some assistance. You can also follow Helen’s Youtube Channel here, which will have tutorials and guidance 😊
Remember, this crochet along is all about fun and relaxation. There’s no rush, so just enjoy the process and crochet at your own pace. Everyone’s blanket will turn out beautifully in the end, and we’re all here to support each other! And if you’re using your own colours, we’d absolutely LOVE to see them! Remember, to tag us on Instagram with #SpringinBloomCAL and tag EmkatCrochet, Yarnsmiths and Wool Warehouse. We may want to share your makes to spark inspiration for the followers!
Enjoy, take your time, and don’t stress! See you back here for week two next week 😊 Toodle pip!
