We’re about to flip the calendar page into February, but before we head into next month, we need to stop and take a look at what’s been happening in our needlecraft department this month! Many of you lucky gift voucher recipients have been treating yourselves (and rightfully so!) to some great savings in our sale area, alongside our newness. Yet this month, we thought we’d take a look at some new and noteworthy pieces; from florals to frames, we’ve got both you and January covered for this month’s round up. Let’s go!
Fab Florals 💐
Although it’s still a little early, we’re dreaming of blooms and these kits are really bringing the spring vibes! Originally released as a stitch-a-long, Caterpillar Cross Stitch’s Birthday Botanicals features twelve blooms to represent each month’s birth flower. Fun to stitch one per month or to sit and have a great stitching session with!
Next up we’re featuring a pretty new arrival from Appletons, who’ve reworked still life artist Vanessa Bowman’s work perfectly. Primrose offers said florals in a pretty jug that instantly brings sunshine to anywhere in the home, and with another three kits in the Pitcher Posy series, there’s plenty of garden delights to bring indoors.

Lastly, we’re heading over to Vervaco for some seriously stunning table and homewares. Known for a number of different disciplines, we’re focusing on embroidery today with these kits. Mixing deep olive green with contrasts of white, ochre and lime, the White Floral collection marries classic techniques with modern design. Available as a table runner, tablecloth or a cushion kit, Vervaco’s printed fabric and full instructions provide intermediate stitchers with a beautiful, advanced challenge that, as you can see, is well worth it.
Stitching The Months Away 🗓️
We’re huge fans of the Historical Sampler Company here in the warehouse, and their newest arrival to our filing cabinets have certainly left us impressed! With the success of their mini kits, Joanne, Suzanne and team are back with these monthly kits that are a great way to creatively ‘flip the calendar pages’ as we make our way through 2026!

We’ve kept things a little seasonal here with March, July, October and December, yet each month is creatively designed with motifs to ring in each month beautifully. Measuring 14cms x 14cms each, they’re a great size to have as a kit on-the-go, with a striking completion blooming quicker than many other projects we may come across. Making Things Wall-Worthy 🖼️
When it comes to those project completions, many of us can get a little fatigued when it comes to precision cutting for frames or backing embroidery hoops to get us over the finish lines. For an alternative way to display your latest creations, we thought we’d shine a spotlight on these new needlework poster hangers!
Pictured below are the latest additions to the warehouse with these two sizes from DMC. Available in both 20cm and 30cm widths, these magnetic frames are a great way to get your work displayed that much quicker, but just as striking! Whether you decide to back your work or not, popping your finished piece in a hanger gives you the flexibility to swap out your pieces for seasonal work, or to simply showcase your latest completion.

Other brands that are dabbling in this great and versatile way of framing are Trimits, with three sizes available for a wide variety of projects with a magnetic fixture: 13cms, 21cms and 30cms. Rico also offer their own versions with an allen key fixture, giving you the option to tighten your projects to the fixings, both available in 20cms and 30cm widths. Tried one before? Be sure to let us know over on our socials!
That’s from it from us for this month! Be sure to head over to see what Alex has for you in yarns and projects, and what Vic’s got in store for fabric! If you’re keen to keep up to date with all that’s happening in The Craft Room, simply enter your email below ⤵️✨
