February Needlecraft 🪡

by Woolly Worker

on

It’s been a busy one here in the warehouse and our needlecraft department has been no different. We’ve had some seriously cute and spring inspired stock delivered; they’ve almost been too nice to tuck away in our filing cabinets!

With the sprouting of bulbs and the (hopefully!) easing up of the wet weather, we thought we’d take you through some of our new faves in the warehouse – let’s get into it!

Bothy Threads 🐇

As always, Bothy Threads’ most recent launch has us more than excited for a new season! With stunning florals, fun furry friends, and plenty of pastels, Bothy and their house of designers are doing what they do best with each and every kit. Forever high quality, each kit comes with your fabric, threads, a needle and full instructions on how to take your piece to completion. Although the kits may not come with finishing pieces as seen below, it gives you as the stitcher the beauty of finishing the piece however you’d like – the world’s your oyster!

Have A Nice Daisy is kicking things off for us this month, with beautiful florals surrounding lovely typography and tiny insects! Finished with backstitch, this kit based on Angie Spurgeon’s artwork is one that can certainly bring the cheer all-year-round.

Keeping Easter and Spring in mind, Little Chirps from Ink & Snail and Jane Sunner’s Spring Wreath are wonderful pieces to work on for the season, using zingy yellows and stunning lilacs, evoking the blooms we’ll soon see around us beautifully.

Finally, Lucy Pittaway’s sheep series continues with Spag & Hetti – we can only assume the name from their curly hair! This fun kit is just another that’s based on Lucy’s impressive and impactful artwork. Sure to whisk anyone away, this fun make is perfect for any corner of the home, displaying an idyllic image of blue skies and beautiful countryside scenery.

Heritage Crafts 💐

Heritage are back with new greetings cards this month and although listed as birthday designs, other occasions are included. You can also let a loved one know you’re thinking of them, wishing them a speedy recovery, best wishes, all the luck for their next endeavour, or, for the season, a Happy Easter.

Each kit comes complete with a card and envelope sizing at 20cms x 15cms, including full instructions, threads, a needle and 14-count aida. Based on work by the celebrated John Clayton, these cards are available in a number of blooms such with Orchids, Poppies, Fuchsias or Daffodils to choose from. Whichever you decide to send, we’re positive that your recipient will cherish your make for years to come.

Vervaco 🦋

Vervaco tick so many boxes when it comes to styles and their vast variety of kit types, yet when it comes to tableware, they really knock it out of the park. Alongside numerous other kits landing in the warehouse this month, we wanted to take the time to highlight these beautiful pieces.

Whether you have a square or rectangular table, these kits are ready to accessorise either! Featured in the Field Flowers design, these printed tableware kits are ready to be stitched on and, once completed, their helpful beginnings will wash away, leaving your stunning stitches behind!

The tablecloth covers a size of 80cms x 80cms, where the runner comes in at 40cms x 100cms, perfect for any meal time or switching up your decor for each season. Whichever you use, we’re sure they’ll become quite the conversation piece around tea, tatties or toast!

That’s it from us for this month! Be sure to head over to see what Alex has for you in yarns and projects, and what Vic’s got in store for fabric! If you’re keen to keep up to date with all that’s happening in The Craft Room, simply enter your email below ⤵️✨
