Quartermoon Crochet

Kiersten Figurski has a deep-rooted passion for crafting, particularly crochet, knitting and embroidery.  Her heritage, influenced by Slovakian, Polish and Irish roots, connects her to a tradition of textile artistry passed down through generations of skilled crafters in her family.

Living amidst the stunning and peaceful landscapes of rural New Mexico, with her husband and three large dogs, Kiersten finds balance in the therapeutic rhythm of handcrafting.  Despite the demands of her roles as a psychotherapist and psychology lecturer, she carves out time each day to immerse herself in the meditative process of creating with yarn and thread.

For Kiersten, crafting is a source of balance and calm amidst her meaningful yet sometimes difficult work.  It’s evident that her creative pursuits play a vital role in maintaining her well-being, providing a counterbalance to the complexities of her work.  Each stitch becomes a moment of mindfulness, a testament to the enduring legacy of her familial craft traditions.
