Sweet Pea Crochet

The crochet designer Sue Rawlinson of Sweetpea Family has been crocheting and knitting from a very young age.  Sue, who is based in the north west of England, now concentrates on designing crochet blankets, but was busy as a child creating garments, accessories and even furniture for her dolls!  Since releasing her first crochet pattern, for a circular cushion embellished with flowers, Sue has worked on blanket designs featuring around ten colours, adding texture and interest with basic stitches – a particular favourite is the bobble stitch.  Always aiming for a relaxing, mindful experience for the crocheter, Sue’s ideas come from the changing seasons or particular events, such as the arrival of a new baby.  Her go-to yarns are King Cole, Rico and Sirdar, and she is now a particular fan of our own Yarnsmiths ranges.  Sue’s designs have been featured in Simply Crochet, Inside Crochet and Woman’s Weekly, and she designed the first Crochet-Along for Sirdar.  When Sue isn’t designing or crocheting, she can be found enjoying the sunshine in her garden, cooking and spending time with her family.  Follow Sue on Instagram @Sweetpeafamily Crochet.
