Fabric Focus – Haunted House 🎃

We’re getting closer and closer to our favourite season and what better way to celebrate than with Lewis & Irene’s Haunted House!

We eased you in a couple of weeks ago with Ruby Star’s Good Spirits, but we’re heading straight into Halloween Town this week and there really isn’t any stopping us. Prepare for bubble, bubble, toil and trouble… and a free pattern in the cauldron – there’s only so much Witches Brew you can drink, right?

Arachnids, grinning Jack O’Lanterns and black cats are quick to greet you when you dare to enter the Haunted House collection.

We’re absolutely loving the colourways within the range; the Blue and Green really make these designs pop, but don’t worry, they’re sure to keep those nightmares at bay.

As you know, we love zooming in on some of our favourites, and dressing these images is all part of the fun. I just wanted to say a big thank you to Adam and Paula, our lovely Customer Service managers, for letting me borrow their handmade pumpkins and skulls for our Halloween season. We certainly do have a talented bunch here in the warehouse!

Perhaps we should have saved this for the ultimate jumpscare, but we couldn’t resist! Lewis & Irene are renowed for their high quality and playful designs, so it’s no surprise that their foray into glow in the dark fabric has only added to the whimsy. Over the years, many seasons and designs have offered their signature glow, yet our favourite use of the technique has to be for Halloween.

The subtlety of the glow doesn’t distract from any of the prints in daylight, and its texture is far from a horror to work with. Yet when the lights go out, we’re able to see what’s really lurking in the darkness. Depending on your personal scare-o-meter, we think the addition of the glow really sets Haunted House apart from the rest!

We’re LOVING these Trick or Treat bags that are featured in the collection! Sold by the panel, the two colourways also feature glow in the dark motifs. Each panel creates two bags with handles and three little stuffies – so cute! Once sewn, all you’ll need to do it head on out with the ghoul gang! Fingers crossed, it’s all treats.

You all know we love a free pattern and thankfully, Lewis & Irene have us quite literally covered with this one! These colourways really embody Halloween to the highest, especially in the acid green; the clever use of blenders brings out that scary shadow that much more!

These quilts are perfect for hiding behind when watching a horror film or two – hey, it’s coming up to slasher season, after all! Lots of popcorn and a Scream movie marathon sure sounds like a great evening… just don’t answer the phone. But maybe brush up on your movie trivia, just in case you do.

Well that’s it for another Fabric Focus! We hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s scream-inducing selection, and make sure to keep your eyes peeled for more autumnal and halloween-themed goodies.
