Hello folks, and welcome to Novembers Monthly Round Up. This month has flown by us, with our attention being on our new Yarnsmiths Merino DK range. We’ve had some wonderful new yarns in that will make you want to start a new project! Let’s have a look shall we…

Simy Studio arrived with us this week, and what a gorgeous range it is. Fifteen shades of hand dyed skeins in a gorgeously soft fingering weight. Each hank is completely different, as it has the hand dyed effect that all us crafters love. It’s made from 100% Superwash Merino, which guarantees softness, warmth and easy care. I can see it knitting up into a gorgeous shawl or a nice pair of socks 🧦

Bernat are always bringing out new and fun ranges to compliment their original collections. Mist-ical is no different! Fourteen excellent shades of fluffy super chunky yarn will elevate your crafting for winter. The Mist-ical takes the famous Bernat Blanket, but with an added water colour twist, adding darker spots to the yarn which will create gorgeous texture and definition on your projects.

Another new range that has come in from our American friends, is the Red Heart Super Saver Bitty Stripes. With five gorgeous mottled shades to choose from, we really are in love with them all. Rainbow, an excellent mix of softer shades to create a fabulous rainbow mix, or Mermaid, hues of purples and blues that would create some of the most beautiful blankets and garments. If you chose some good solid shades from the Red Heart Super Saver range, you can create some gorgeous makes. The Yarnspirations website is full of inspirational patterns that will see you into the New Year ✨

Take a sit down, and come and explore some of the wonderful patterns and projects we’ve had in during November. New patterns were introduced from designers such as Kaz Hall (Insomnia Crochet) and House of Buddleia (Anna Stephenson).

Kaz has given her original Borg blanket design a bit of an update. She’s used Yarnsmiths Create DK in some pretty fabulous colours! The rainbow version of the Borg blanket will brighten any room, and as Create DK is such a versatile yarn, it’ll be easy to care for and look after! A perfect project for the New Year perhaps?

Earlier in November, we were super excited to work with Anna Stephenson, some may know her designs under her brand name, House of Buddleia. Anna uses a lot of natural fibre yarns, and provided some excellent feedback on our Yarnsmiths Merino DK when we launched, and also designed the most wonderful Hot Water Bottle Cover – Mysa. With three yarn packs to compliment the pattern, you can choose from different colourways, or choose your own shades from the Merino DK collection. The Swedish word Mysa is a verb that translates to “to cosy up” or “to snuggle”, which is something I can 100% get on board with! You can shop all the yarn packs and the pattern by clicking here. We’ve introduced a new project book by Naomi Vincent. Crocheting with scrap cakes creates a colourful look, and the author guides you on making scrap cakes for perfect colour contrast. She also shows how to sort scraps by colour themes before winding them up, allowing for unique yarn in your crochet projects. Along with scrap cake instructions, there are 15 crochet projects, including a shawl, scarf, bag, hat, cardigan, and various blankets. These projects feature different crochet stitches and techniques, like a granny square blanket and a corner-to-corner throw, with instructions included at the back for easy reference.

That’ all for this month, why not head over to see what’s new with Needlecraft, and make sure you pop over to see Judith in Fabric 🥰
