March Fabric ✂️

The month of March always feels like a magical time of year as everything begins to bloom around us once again. Over the past week, I’ve been enjoying the sunrise on my drive to work; I really think the lighter mornings and longer afternoons really help put a smile on plenty of faces – they certainly do for me! A beautiful new season brings new fabrics and although these came into the warehouse a little earlier in the month, I’m just as thrilled to be sharing them with you for March’s fabric round up.

Let’s take a look!

We’re starting off strong and heading back to the Highlands with Lewis & Irene! Well-known for their previous collections on similar themes such as Loch Lewis and Celtic Faeries, Highlands offers warm heather, soft sage and rich burnt orange over a range of prints, as they celebrate the majestic highland cow this time around.

Featuring Thistles and Highland Cows across pattern repeats and vast landscapes in their double border, the collection is as on-trend as ever. With Lewis & Irene’s continual success regarding each take on the style, it’s just further proof that Scottish and Celtic iconography remain timeless, as any pieces you craft with this collection can be admired and cherished year after year.

As always, Lewis & Irene have created a beautiful quilt showcasing the collection, available as a free download. Available to sew in two colourways, the Highlands Quilt is definitely one to cosy up with all year round.

If you’re looking for more Celtic inspiration, we’ve got other wonderful collections from Lewis & Irene both in the warehouse and arriving later in the summer. And for the colder months, Craft Cotton Company will be bringing Highland Pastures to the department this summer to get you ready for your winter quilting.

Hopping his way from Craft Cotton Company‘s HQ and into the warehouse is Peter Rabbit in Meadow Tails! We’re thrilled to see another Beatrix Potter collection hit our shelves and featuring some of our favourite characters from across the series.

Featuring Jemima Puddleduck, Pigling Bland, Mr. Jeremy Fisher and more, Meadow Tails features a neutral palette of sand, sages and creams, perfect to use for any little one’s nursery or to add some whimsy to a reading nook. I’ve always adored Beatrix Potter and her wonderful stories; each time a new collection lands, I’m always excited to see which characters are featured.

Meadow Tails also has its shelf-mates in some of the other collections from Craft Cotton below:

That’s it from me for all things fabric for March! Let’s see what Annette and Alex are highlighting for this month’s needlecraft and yarn projects!
