Oh MY GOSH, it’s Week SIX of our first ever CAL with Emkat Crochet! A note from Helen:

Hello and welcome to Week 6 of the Spring in Bloom CAL! Helen here with a few words for you all 😊

I can’t believe we’re already at Week 6 – it’s time to start joining and adding the border to your blankets! I’m so excited to see my social feeds fill up with your completed creations over the next week or so.

And don’t worry if you’re not quite up to date – I’m behind myself on the Pebble Haze version! But I’m thoroughly enjoying making this blanket alongside you all again. I absolutely love seeing the different colourways people have chosen – from vibrant pinks to soft peaches – so many beautiful combinations, and they all look magnificent!

Just a few thank-yous from me to you.
First, thank you for all your support, kind comments, messages and feedback on the CAL. It’s been such a joy to design and create this beautiful blanket for you to make, enjoy, and cherish for years to come.
A big thank you as well for being so kind about my first YouTube videos! It’s really nerve-wracking putting yourself out there for the first time – not knowing if you’re doing it right. They’re not perfect, but I’ve had so much feedback saying they’ve helped many of you, and that was always my goal. So that’s a small win in my eyes – whoop whoop!!

HUGE thanks to Wool Warehouse and Yarnsmiths for allowing me to create this beautiful blanket in their gorgeous yarn ranges. It’s been an honour to be the designer of your very first CAL – a true milestone in my designing career, and one I’ll never forget!

And a special shoutout to woolly worker, Alex – my main contact throughout the process. You’ve been amazing and so supportive – THANK YOU!

Hopefully, you’ll see me again soon, Helen x 😊

🌸 Pssst… Keep your eyes peeled! There’s a surprise add-on pattern coming after the CAL finishes. I can’t wait to share it with you!”

Hello, me again, Alex 👋

Crikey, can you believe we’ve made it to Week Six? What a journey it’s been! I’ve absolutely loved working with Helen on this Crochet Along, and seeing all your progress pictures popping up on social media has been a real treat!

Week Six is all about joining and bordering. I’ll let you in on a little secret… I’m a bit rubbish when it comes to sewing things up! So, when we made our blanket in the office, the wonderful Annette very kindly did all the sewing for me 😊 Thank you Annetti Spaghetti!

You can absolutely follow the order that Helen’s used for sewing up her blanket, or you can just go with what you fancy! Some of your colour choices have been absolutely brilliant, so we’re really excited to see the finished blankets.

I’ve noticed a few of you might be running a bit short on the yellow yarn. Just to let you know, the pattern doesn’t strictly call for it on the border. However, if you’re finding you’re low on it for the squares or those lovely butterfly panels, just drop us a quick email to sales@woolwarehouse.co.uk with your order number, and we’ll have a look into it for you. If your tension and sized squares are correct, you will have sufficient yarn 🙂

We’re slightly gutted that our first CAL is coming to an end, but keep your peepers peeled on our social media pages, as we’ll be asking you lovely lot for some feedback on the crochet along. This will make sure we can hear what you thought and take it all on board ready for our next one! 😊 Remember to watch Helens Youtube channel for tutorials 🌈

Please do keep tagging us in your finished blankets – we’ll be putting together a blog post showcasing them all, so make sure you’re subscribed to our blog to see yours featured!
