April Fabric ✂️

We’ve seen some lovely sunshine this month and while the showers have taken over a bit more recently, it’s been a joy to see some sunshine both in and out of the warehouse. We’ve seen some wonderful fabrics arrive and we’re loving just how much you’re all enjoying these new designs, too!

Let’s take a look at April’s fabric delights!

As soon as this collection was presented to us, I immediately fell in love with it. Divine gold metallics and dainty blossoms surround beautiful Koi in Sakura, by Lewis & Irene. Their inspiration for the range is just as well-thought out as Lewis & Irene’s previous collections. Every component and facet has been taken into consideration; they explain via their site:

“‘Hanami’, which means flower viewing, is the Spring tradition of viewing the Sakura where family and friends can gather to enjoy drinks under the masses of blossom . This custom celebrates the transient beauty of flowers and we think a wonderful way to celebrate the new life that Springs brings.”

“This collection is inspired by our own love of cherry blossom and how, for us, it signifies the end of Winter and a journey to sunnier days. The gold metallic on each these fabrics not only looks lovely but is inspired by the Japanese art of ‘Kintsugi’ when broken ceramics are repaired using gold which highlights the flaws and cracks. A fabulous way to prolong the life of an object and rather than throwing something away, it’s made into something beautiful.”

Also a dominant feature in the collection are Koi carp, much to my personal delight, as these wonderful fish bring me so much joy. I adore Kois and seeing them featured within Sakura just adds to the beauty of this range. Symbolising good fortune, prosperity and more, Koi also represent love and friendship. So while Sakura well-celebrates a new season, the collection also appears to honour these revered carp for their beauty and resilience.

As always, Lewis & Irene have delivered another wonderful free pattern for us in the Sakura quilt, which you can download HERE. Featured above, yet available in three colourways, the Sakura quilt offers not only comfort and style, but encapsulates complete serenity in its design from Sally Ablett. Make sure to check out the full collection HERE.

We saw this fresh squeeze land in the warehouse earlier this month, and it’s safe to say that you all are LOVING Ruby Star Society‘s Juicy collection – we can’t say we blame you! Founder, Creative Director and Designer of the collection Melody Miller, is back with an assortment of delights.

Championing her unique style and use of eclectic components across a number of colours, Juicy brings the summer vibes. Featuring juice cartons, vibrant oranges and stunning florals, these prints bring the zing whatever the weather. You can check out the full collection HERE as well as grabbing yourself a bargain, as Juicy is currently sitting at a delicious 34% off! We think that calls for ice and a slice, don’t you?!

But it’s not just us who’s feeling inspired when it comes to this collection! Our very own Director Holly has made this stunning dress using Juicy in Shell; safe to say she’s bringing the summer vibes everywhere she goes!

We adore the character that Holly’s added; the ruching gives it more of a relaxed feel, with the ruffle details add such fun and flounce to the dress.

Great work, Holly! 🧃☀️

The sunshine has certainly put a smile on my face and has had me dreaming of both past and future getaways. The first of my honourable mentions for this month has to go to Lemon Grove from Rose & Hubble. I’ve definitely fallen into the trap of loving anything with Lemons on and this trio of colours really have stolen my heart. The blossoming citrus sits so vibrantly on top of the Navy, Denim and the Ivory; it’s got my crafty mind working overtime!

Another set of designs that deserve some column inches this month are from V&A and Craft Cotton with Crafts of Tranquility. Ideal for fans of classic blue Willow prints, Crafts of Tranquility offers multi-tonal florals and beautiful patterns across the collection.

Their inspiration behind the designs derive from ancient artifacts, proving perfect to introduce these timeless, classic designs into your home.

Available as two separate fat quarter bundles in the Delft and Porcelain colourways, you can also view the full collection HERE.

Lastly, we’re super excited to welcome Tilda back into the Fabric department! After a little departure, we’re jumping higher than a bunny at Easter to see these powerhouses back on our shelves, soon. So whilst we’re hopping mad in getting things ready for their arrival, here’s your exclusive first-look!

Landing soon, Wallflower features 70s-style prints in an array of different colours, marrying past and present beautifully. Tilda also have a number of free patterns coming out for the collection, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for when both those and the collection lands soon.
