Welcome back to another round up!

I can’t quite believe just how quickly these posts come around, but it goes to show how quickly time flies when you’re unpacking lots of wonderful new stock! Last year, we offered a festive first-look at our Christmas ranges, so I thought it right that we continue said tradition.

Many may believe that it’s far too early to even be thinking about Christmas. Yet as many of us crafters know, planning and giving ourselves enough time to complete projects can be rather time consuming – hence why we need to start early! I’m sure the collections featured will get those cogs turning on what to create for your next seasonal make, so without futher ado, let’s see which stock looks like it’s arrived straight out of Lapland!

Festive Greetings 🎄Liberty Fabrics

Is it really Christmas without another stunning collection from Liberty Fabrics? Of course, it’s not! Thankfully for us all, they deliver far earlier than Father Christmas and, this year, we’re feeling the cheer with their latest collection, Festive Greetings.

Winter Villages, seasonal Emily Belles and striking sprigs of Holly are soon to greet us, offering metallics here and there within the range to add that extra layer of festive sparkle. As for the inspiration behind the collection, Liberty Fabrics state via their lookbook:

“Sparked by the magic of Christmas, the Festive Greetings collection celebrates the highlights of the Yuletide season. In true Liberty style, we revisit cherished traditions and activities, discovering a treasure trove of delights. Embark with us on a journey through snowy landscapes, cosy havens, and twinkling night skies, where tumbling gifts, shimmering stars, and festive florals are accompanied by heartfelt holiday greetings from Liberty.”

Designed by Matthew Pridemore, the Festive Greetings quilt features stunning block patterns in between rows of cute little houses. Luckily for us all, Liberty Fabrics have released this as a free pattern, available to download HERE. Whether you’re following this pattern to a T or you’ve got your own plans, we’d love to see them, so be sure to get involved in our WIP Wednesdays over on our Facebook page.

Good Tidings 🎄Makower

This time of year, Makower always brings the cheer and this year’s offerings are no different. Filled with stunning gold metallics across a number of designs, as Good Tidings is set to enchant and inspire any makes throughout the festive season.

Whether you’re a seasoned Makower fan or a newcomer to the brand, they’re back with another round of fantastic panels. The Blocks panel in both cream and green feature classic Christmas motifs, complete with baubles, stags and wreaths, embellished with gold metallic. The advent calendar panel uses a similar pattern to Snow Crystal, a design within the main collection, all over the tree. Each advent comes with instructions on how to bring each one to completion – roll on the treats, that’s what we say!

Speaking of goodies, more Makower has been delivered under the proverbial tree! Scandi Christmas offers solid colours across a range of designs, where Jolly St. Nick delivers smiles and presents!

Norwegian Christmas – Arne & Carlos 🎄Lewis & Irene

For the first of our collaboration focused posts with Lewis & Irene, we’re taking a look at another stunning collection from celebrated designers Arne and Carlos with Norwegian Christmas. The pair are well-known for their striking designs, yet their inspirations behind this 18-piece collection are a little closer to home. Via the Lewis & Irene lookbook, they state:

Our […] collection is inspired by a typical Norwegian celebration, which includes winter landscapes, fun in the snow, reindeer, traditional Christmas elves that live in barns and will bring gifts if they get a bowl of porridge on Christmas Eve. Houses are traditionally decorated with ornaments such as stars, hearts, pinecones and angels made out of straw and Poinsettias are also part of Christmas decorations.

We love the detail within the range, alongside the wonderful tales that it’s based upon. The mix of traditional colours with modern tones simply elevates each piece, as introducing certain hues certainly catch the eye. We’re loving the blue Poinsettias and Christmas Eve on green, making the tiny scarlet Christmas cottages really pop.

Arne & Carlos always deliver when it comes to any new collection in whatever dicipline. Whether it’s knitting, quilting or more, they’re sure to inspire whatever your craft. For more on the creative powerhouses, their YouTube channel has a wealth of tutorials, which you can check out HERE.

All Is Bright – Stuart Hillard 🎄Lewis & Irene

We’ve been absolutely loving each collaborative collection from Stuart Hillard and Lewis & Irene. Hajime and Indian Summer have really captured people’s hearts and stashes, so it’s no surprise that you’ve all been loving his new collection, All Is Bright, just as much.

Both Stuart and his designs have been continually celebrated in the quilting community – and rightfully so. His collections always have us feeling inspired and when it comes to a festive range such as this one, it’s hard not to be swept up in the yuletide magic of it all. When talking about the inspirations behind his collection, Stuart explains via the Lewis & Irene lookbook:

“All is Bright reflects my love of a traditional Christmas and the beautiful, bright and vibrant colour we all yearn for in the depths of winter. Since childhood I’ve loved to gather fresh branches, covered in bright red berries, boughs of evergreens, pine cones and fresh blooms to decorate my home during the festive period.

“I always wished the fresh colour could last all Winter so I designed All is Bright to make that wish come true. Rich florals, vibrant evergreens and a luxurious traditional plaid make All is Bright the perfect collection for home decor, quilt making and gorgeous seasonal makes you’ll love all year round.”

We can safely say that Stuart’s completed what he’d set out to do and then some. Vibrant poinsettias serve as a main feature throughout the collection, along with cutesy stars, holly and cosy checks. Yet it’s the runners that have had you all in a festive frenzy; so much so that they’ve nearly sprinted out of the warehouse! We can’t wait to see what you all make with this one, so make sure to keep sending those pictures our way.

Other Festive Favourites ✨

We’re as packed as Santa’s Workshop when it comes to the festive goodies, so we couldn’t say goodbye without pointing you towards some of our other favourites in the warehouse!

Before we get into our final fabric picks, the Christmas Quilt Builder Card deck is packed with 40 blocks to plan across eight different layouts. Each card illustrates the design, while the reverse offers both piecing and cutting information. With many options to choose from, you’re sure to create something that’s truly unique!

Whether you’re grabbing one for an early stocking filler or to use yourself to plan your festive projects, there’s plenty of inspiration to be had.

Let’s get into the best of the rest for more fab-yule-lous fabrics!

HoliDazzle from 3 Wishes is another newcomer, housed by the Craft Cotton Company. Designed by the wonderful Emiko Rainbow, this small-but-mighty collection that brings the party vibes of the season! We recently caught up with Emiko to talk all things HoliDazzle, from where she gathered her inspirations for the collection and more. Be sure to check out our chat with her HERE!

As for others, Deb Strain’s Woodland Winter brings all the cosy vibes with in another stunning collection with Moda, where rich reds and evergreens take centre stage – if you keep your eyes peeled, you may see a vibrant little cardinal poking through the foliage!

Finally, we thought we’d leave you with another collection from Lewis & Irene, where their first collaboration with Eva Melhuish has rolled on to become such a celebrated one. Tomten’s Forest Friends offers whimsical folklore over a range of beautiful fabrics, with storytelling woven through each piece. With panels a’plenty, Tomten’s tales may have begun, but it’s your turn to tell his story.

That’s it from me for July! We can’t wait to see what you all come up with this year, so keep those WIP photos coming our way over on our Facebook page! Don’t forget to check out what Alex has got in store for this month’s yarn and projects, and what Annette’s taking a closer look at for all things needlecraft!
