Goodbye July! We had an intense heatwave at the start of the month, which then followed with stormy weather which is great for us crafters! We have some gorgeous new yarns from Yarnsmiths and James C Brett, plus new shades in very popular Red Heart yarn. We also have our first ever The Craft Room Sewing pattern, which has been designed by our incredible Annette โœจ

Six new shades of Red Heart Itty Bitty arrived in the warehouse this month; the range is hugely popular with crafters, with this speckled yarn and mottled undertone making it a delight to work with. The Aran weight yarn makes it easy to cast on any new project, and the colours are super gorgeous. Unicorn Mane, Lolipop and Love Bug are some staff favourites, with future projects coming to mind. I’ve linked a free knitting pattern here for you, which uses the shade Crayon Box, you could crochet something similar using half trebles ๐Ÿ™‚

We did a spotlight on James C Brett last month, which you can read here. This month they have launched a new range called Munchkin, a super soft and squishy super chunky pom pom yarn. It creates fun baby blankets, with a free pattern on the reverse of the ball band (you will need two balls). In a range of colourways, from soft pastels to vibrant rainbow shades, Munchkin is sure to have just the look you’re hoping for.

Yarnsmiths Merino Heathers have been on our shelves for over a month now, and as it’s been a little rainier this month, it’s got us in the mood for autumn/winter projects. The lightly heathered yarn comes in 20 moody shades, which will make for perfect jumpers, blankets and cosy projects. Janie Crow used shades Deep Oxblood, Inkwell Blue, Stormy Skyand Hushed Rose Heathers in her Persian Tiles Sandalwood colourway, which work so well with our other Merino colours. Please note, this yarn is lightly heathered, and gives a soft effect to any project!

Adorable new patterns from King Cole, which uses their Jumbo Toastie yarn are ruddy excellent! From snails, to turtles, to adorable dinosaurs, these patterns are super squishy for you to make!

Annette, Vic, Judith and Alex have been working BTS on creating free fabric patterns for The Craft Room, and voila, our first free pattern is ready to download! The Pip Bag, is a simple project bag that is made from three different fabrics. Annette gives detailed instructions and pictures, which makes it super easy, even for beginners to follow! You can download the free pattern here, and subscribe to The Craft Room to see our other patterns!

That’s all for this month, why not head over to see what’s new with Needlecraft, and make sure you pop over to see Vic in Fabric ๐Ÿฅฐ Toodaloo ๐ŸŒˆโœจ
