We’re back with week two of our Staff Scream-A-Thon! This week, goods-in’s very own Adam G tells us what makes this time of year such a great one for him. Read on…if you dare!

Hi, Adam! What are your favourite things about the Halloween season?

Colder nights! And because it starts to get darker earlier, it fits in better with my horror movie watching.

Are there any shows or movies that you love to watch this time of year?

For me itโ€™s mainly about catching up with the movies I missed when they originally came out. So I have Weapons, Bring Her Back and I Know What You Did Last Summer to watch. Other than that I do like to try and fit in one or two โ€œclassicsโ€, usually ones Iโ€™ve not seen in a while. This year because the TV show Alien Earth is currently streaming, I think it might be time for an Alien series rewatch.

What upcoming Horrors are on your watchlist?

Ready or Not 2. I was a big fan of the first one and interested to see where they take the sequel. There are also new entries in the Silent Hill and Evil Dead franchises Iโ€™m looking forward too. Evil Dead especially is a franchise Iโ€™m a big fan of.

In the somewhat words of Ghostface (IYKYK), what are your top three favourite scary movies?

The Thing will always be at the top of my list. I love the psychological mystery of who has been turned into the monster and am always a big fan of practical effects over CGI. The scene where theyโ€™re testing each other to see who is the monster might be my favourite scene in all film history.

Itโ€™s harder to choose my other top 2 as it changes quite often. For number 2 though, Iโ€™m going to pick another John Carpenter film, In The Mouth of Madness. A good psychological horror inspired by the works of H.P Lovecraft, which like The Thing features some amazing effects work. My third pick would be Train to Busan. Just when I thought I was getting bored of zombie movies, one from Korea comes along and revitalises it for me.

Some great picks! Have you got any plans coming up to celebrate?

I usually play a bunch of video games this time of year on top of movies. Keeping with my Alien theme for the month I plan on finally completing Alien Isolation, providing I can fight through the fear.

You’ve got this, Adam! Thanks for sharing what makes your scary season oh-so-special! Happy October! ๐ŸŽƒ
