We’re back with another Fabric Focus and this week, we’re having a focus on one whole range in particular, not just one collection! Celebrated for its smaller motifs, Small Things by Lewis & Irene has been one of their staple ranges for many years now. Releasing biannually with different themes, these collections have become a quilters favourite for their pattern repeats and small design size.

With Small Things: Fairytales from Lewis & Irene serving as their latest collection, it’s safe to say we’re excited this one! But before we talk about that range, we thought we’d have another look at some of our favourites that have been released so far. Without further delay, let’s get started!

Small Things: Wild Animals 🐾

We’re heading on Safari first, as we say a big hello to some of our favourite wild animals! It’s hard to choose who the leader of the pack is with this many stunning prints, as you’re really spoilt for choice here!

This collection is perfect for a child’s bedroom or nursery, as these tones would work well with a variety of colour schemes. With some designs featuring parents and cubs, it feels even more fitting to use this range for your little ones, especially as this collection also offers a panel with plenty of playful pals to cut out and make!

However, Wild Things is just as perfect for all you animal lovers out there! These designs would be perfect to make a new craft bag with, or even some animal print cushions to bring that maximalised feel to any vibrant space. The possibilites with this one are really endless! Small Things: Rivers & Creeks 🐸

We’re searching for wildlife in this next Small Things collection in Rivers and Creeks. This range sees jumping frogs, bright kingfishers and cheerful chomping beavers featured over another complementary palette. Soft greens, warm greys, and rich creams are used, offering a perfect contrast all round.

Rivers and Creeks also come with a free pattern, which you can view and download HERE. Shown above are the two stunning colourways; designed by Sally Ablett, this quilt pattern may be the same, but gives a completely different vibe in its alternating designs – gorgeous! Small Things: Fairytales ✨

Lewis and Irene’s latest addition to the warehouse sees them explore many childhood favourites for Small Things: Fairytales! Each design focuses on a classic tale, with fourteen designs to choose from including Aladdin, The Wizard of Oz, The Little Mermaid and more. Each design features key illustrations from each storybook, charming fans of each tale both past and present.

Unlike some of the other Small Things collections, Fairytales features a main print displaying all characters across the collection; we can see a toybox covered in this fabric, for sure! The available double border offers a landscape where you’ll be able to pick out your favourites from quite the wonderland. We love the transition from day to night, with the twinkling stars above the many magical elements. This one’s fun for all! To view the full range for Small Things: Fairytales, click HERE.

Small, But Mighty…

There are plenty of other collections to choose from depending on your projects needs or your mood! Small Things: Sweet covers some tasty treats, with donuts, cupcakes and lollipops to tempt the tastebuds, where Small Things: Snuggle Season sees marshmallows being toasted, mugs filled with hot chocolate and cats frolicking in the autumn leaves!

Small Things: Crafts is perfect for all you quilters, knitters and crocheters out there! Where Small Things: Coastal offers another thalassic-themed collection, featuring vibrant lobsters, crabs and starfish. To view Lewis & Irene’s complete Small Things collections, simply click HERE.
