The topic of mindfulness is one that is always important, and with how relaxing taking up new crafts can be, we thought we’d take another look at one of our favourite authors, Emma Congdon. We’ve covered her work in Book Club previously when talking about her other popular titles Cross Stitch For The Earth and Stitchrovia’s Merry Stitchmas, yet we thought we’d take a look at her debut with Cross Stitch For The Soul.
You may know Emma Congdon as Stitchrovia, a wonderfully celebrated designer within the stitching community, known for her signature typography style and stunning shading techniques. We’re huge fans of hers within the warehouse, with a fair few of us completing many of her designs over the years, and this book has certainly had us feeling more than inspired.
Cross Stitch For The Soul features twenty stunning designs and phrases that Emma resonates with, including ones from inspirational figures, as she explains at the beginning of the book. Each pattern featured lists the inspiration behind each quote, alongside a listing what materials you’ll need to complete each design.

Perfect for completing for yourself or for a loved one, these designs are wonderful to create and place in a location where you’ll frequent, offering a kind word or two to give you a boost on those days where you may need it more than others. For any other day, Cross Stitch For The Soul serves as a gentle reminder in both design and creative practice to keep going; a wonderful sentiment all year round and phrases that we’re sure will bring a smile or sense of comfort to both yourself and those around you.
Have you completed a pattern from this book or another one from Stitchrovia? If so, we’d love to see! Be sure to share your WIPs and completions with us over on our socials by using the tag #WoolWarehouseCrafters.
