I have a bit of a soft spot for amigurumi, there’s something super cute about pocket sized makes, especially with pocket size yarn! Ricorumi has been stocked by us for many years now, and we have watched as the range has continued to grow and grow, with different styles of yarn and pattern books being introduced.
The best thing about Ricorumi lies entirely with its size. Instead of 100g balls, Ricorumi comes in bite sized 25g balls, making it perfect for amigurumi. The smaller balls mean you can add a splash of colour to your make without having to clutter your yarn stash.
The range is 100% Cotton, that is spun to be specifically sturdy but smooth. Cotton is essential for toy making because it has zero fuzz, meaning your stitches remain crisp and clean, and so stuffing doesn’t peek through.

The colour selection across the different ranges is fabulous. Beyond a spectrum of solid shades, Rico has ventured into gorgeous texture variants. You can grab Twinkly Twinkly, for a subtle magical glitter strand, or Neon for a vibrant festival feel, or even Lamé for a high shine metallic finish that is perfect for tiny crowns or holiday decorations.
We can’t talk about Ricorumi without talking about the pattern books. Rico releases themed collections that are beautifully photographed and incredibly easy to follow. They cover everything from Fresh Friends, which featured very cute, crocheted veggies with smiley faces, to specialised booklets for Christmas and Halloween. Because the yarn balls are so small and affordable, picking up a booklet and grabbing the yarn feels incredibly accessible.

We carry the full range of Ricorumi yarns and booklets, so why not have a flick through at the yarns HERE, and the patterns HERE.
