Happy new year sewists! Welcome to the first fabric round up of 2024, have you made new year re-sew-lutions (sorry, I love a pun…)? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered and I can’t wait to share what’s coming to the Wool Warehouse fabric room this year.

This month we got an early ‘on fabric’ peek at Liberty Fabric’s ‘Garden Party’ collection, which is due to be delivered in February. This quilting cotton range has a real vintage feel, and is a lovely combination of classic Liberty floral prints with some fun surprises (cake anyone?). I particularly love the zesty yellow and green colourway, among the equally lovely and classic blues and pinks.

Don’t forget you can head to the ‘What’s New‘ fabric section of the website to see the latest upcoming fabric releases and start planning. Pop your email address into the ‘notify me’ box to get a message as soon as our delectable new stock arrives.

We’ve kicked off the year with some fresh new deliveries from Moda!

The riotous and retro ‘Vintage Soul‘ collection by designer Cathe Holden. Inspired by craft kits of the 60s and 70s this vibrant range is adorned with all our favourite things; Embroidered flowers, crewel-stitched birds, and crocheted granny squares, all in the bright colours of happy. Cathe reproduced her collection of vintage crocheted potholders and coasters into fun and versatile prints, and even created a rainbow cheater-quilt design inspired by her treasured mid-century patchwork throws. This collection would make some seriously scene-stealing homewares!

Last but not least by any stretch, we got to unbox the much anticipated ‘Honey and Lavender‘ range by Deb Strain for Moda. Bees have been a popular and recurring theme on fabric, and we continue to be intrigued and delighted by them. In this new range, Deb has added a fresh note of lavender to her signature muted yellow, cream and charcoal colour palette: “I was watching the bees in our garden last spring as they buzzed among the lavender and thought…what a perfect addition! Accents of lavender are scattered throughout this, my newest bee collection and it just adds a softer, fresh feel to the group.”

We’ve been busy behind the scenes planning 2024’s festive fabric collections and have discounted some oldies but goodies to make space. If you like to be super organised with your Christmas sewing, or you just love a bargain, grab them while you still can.

That’s January’s fabric news rounded up, thanks for joining me! And if you dabble in more than one craft, be sure to check out Alex’s round up of new yarns, patterns and other goodies here
