Happy July, all!
I hope your June was a good one and you either completed a WIP or just enjoyed adding a little to your projects. If not, that’s okay too! There was a lovely bit of sunshine towards the end of last month, so let’s hope that continues once more as the days pass by.
If you’ve been keeping up with my picks each month, I’ve been keeping you all updated with my own WIPs. So I’m very pleased to announce that I’ve completed my project!
I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve finished a cross stitch, so it was great to able to recycle that pattern. There’s always something so satisfying about getting rid of a used pattern, isn’t there?
I’ve got a similar pattern that I’m hoping to begin soon. Both will sit adjacent to one another once our bathroom renovation is complete, hence why I’ve gone with the neutral fabric and black frame to tie in with our décor. I can see the vision in my mind, I just hope it works as well in reality!
As for new projects, I’ve got to keep my cards close to my chest as I’m working on a gift for someone special, but once finished, I’ll be sure to post it on a future blog. For now, I’ve got another three delights for you to keep you entertained whilst working on your WIPs.

Since T.M. Logan’s debut in Lies, I’ve been a huge fan of his work, to the point where he’s been an insta-buy for me. With some of his other works read by the brilliant Richard Armitage, Logan never misses.
The Holiday holds the perfect amount of suspense that’ll have you perched on the edge of your sun lounger, project in hand.
Kate’s orchestrated the ultimate holiday to celebrate a 40th for her, her pals and respective families. Yet in between lapping up the rays on the Provence, Kate suspects her husband of having an affair with another holiday goer. But which one of her friends is it?
Yet as the week’s holiday and her investigation goes on, has Kate flown too close to the sun in trying to get closer to the truth?
🎙️Podcast – Unwanted – QCODE
I’m always on the lookout for new audio dramas, and QCODE rarely steers me wrong in that area, so when I came across Unwanted and noticed it was listed as a comedy, it was an insta-listen.
After a less-than-romantic chance encounter and hearing about a million-dollar Police reward, besties Ben and Grant whirr into action in hopes of catching convicted murderer, Shelly O’Keith. Cue action-comedy chaos, plenty of laughs and a banging theme song by Rick Astley – yes, the Rick Astley.
Starring Lamorne Morris, Billy Magnussen and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Unwanted will have you laughing out loud mid-project. It’s an easy listen and perfect for those of us who love an action movie. Thankfully, the same amount of thrills are included and you don’t even have to tear your eyes away from your WIPs.
💿Album – Older & Upper – George Michael
With both of my parents being fans of George Michael, it was inevitable that I would be too. With a plethora of exceptional bodies of work, George’s discography really suits any mood. Yet Older has to be one of my ultimate favourites.
You could argue it wouldn’t typically fall into a ‘summery’ category, yet as the album progresses, the opening bars of Fastlove, Pt. 1, Spinning the Wheel, and Star People prove that this one is to blast out when you’re sat in the garden with your latest WIP.
With beautifully haunting lyrics, melodies and silky instrumentation throughout, Older remains unmatched. Re-released in 1997, Upper added another six songs, including the ultimate summer anthem (in my opinion) in the Forthright Edit of Spinning The Wheel. And if you’re a fan of more remixes, edits and previously unreleased tracks like me, the Older Expanded Edition is sure to see you through the toughest of projects.
