As 2024 winds down, I hope you’ve all had a chance for a bit of a breather after the frantic build up to the festive period. I very much consider the New Year ‘selfish crafting time’ and I’m looking forward to getting my Pinterest boards and notebooks together to plan some sewing projects for my home.
With the focus so much on Christmas, December can be a quiet month for new fabric, but we’ve still had a little flurry of arrivals that I wanted to share with you (warning, a lot of cute animals coming up…). Lets have a look!
Riley Blake – 100 Aker Woods
This super cute Winnie the Pooh themed collection was actually due in the Autumn, and it’s here after a longer than expected trip across the ocean.
This one-of-a-kind collection from Jill Howarth for Riley Blake will delight all ages with familiar characters from A. A. Milne’s classic stories, including Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, and Christopher Robin. Jill’s super cute hand-drawn illustrations come to vivid life in a palette of pink, blush, green, blue, and gold.
You might have spotted this range in our Advent giveaway earlier this month – we paired it with some bright yellow plush pompom trim (it also looks great with the lime) and Gutermann thread in a light blue for a fun kids room project, or a patchwork cushion.
Lewis and Irene – Small Things Rivers and Creeks
This latest installment in Lewis and Irene’s ever popular ‘Small Things’ series, celebrates animals and birds found down by the river. Cute otters and beavers, heron and kingfishers, frogs, ducks and geese feature in this nature inspired fabric collection, which includes a squares panel to cut and sew as you wish.
Here at Wool Warehouse HQ we’re lucky enough to be near a river and a canal, and I think I’ve spotted every creature in this sweet collection in the wild, apart from the very elusive beaver.
Lewis and Irene’s free quilt pattern could be a great jumping off point for a more involved project, or you could just pick your favorite animal print to showcase – the otters have been flying out!
Makower – Fun on the Farm
Introduce your little one to all the fun of the farm with this gorgeous new collection from Makower. Adorable animals, colourful fruit and veg, and rumbling tractors will add a touch of countryside whimsy to your project. The very round pigs print has been a particular hit in the fabric room!
Makower have released a free quilt pattern with this collection, which makes the most of the animal spotting potential of these fun designs.
