Well, here we are in December and it’s time to say goodbye to the creative, crafty year of 2024. We thought we would take a look at some of the projects we’ve featured throughout the year in the world of needlecraft at Wool Warehouse. It’s only right that we have some favourites from all of the beautiful kits, threads and accessories we featured – maybe you even chose some of them too?

This was one of our picks in April, and it made it onto our favourites list for 2024 – it’s Spring from Vervaco’s Four Seasons collection. This charming cross stitch kit features a sweet thatched cottage amongst a garden of gorgeously colourful spring blooms. The detailed shading on the flower petals, along with the white blossom in the trees, brings to life this wonderfully vibrant scene – you feel you could almost smell the scent of the tulips in the spring sunshine! That spring sunshine seems some time away right now, but this charming kit brings the warmth and colour right back to us here, in chilly, dark December. Step into spring and linger amongst the blooms!
We couldn’t leave out these two beautifully peaceful cross stitch scenes from our 2024 selection – whether you were longing to lose yourself in a rural, quiet haven, or to visit a moonlit, frozen bay, complete with a solitary seal, these new kits for May were sure to fulfil all your travel dreams!

They are both Heritage Crafts kits, from the creative imagination of UK designer and illustrator Mel Rodicq: The Haven (on the left)and Moonlit Bay (on the right) are full-coverage cross kits, which include everything you need to create these colourful, vibrant scenes, and will be a delight to stitch and display. Whether you were on travels around the world, or stitching in comfort at home, we think that these designs have everything you could wish for!
We selected some wonderfully sweet and colourful stitching accessories during the year – stitchers always need sharp little scissors and strong, dependable needle minders and we welcomed some beauties into the warehouse this year.

Caterpillar Cross Stitch’s needle minders are beautifully strong, perfect for holding onto your needle in a stitchy break, and making sure it doesn’t end up in the carpet or the sofa cushions! There were some fun, festive new additions to the Caterpillar collection this year, including the Mince Pie and the Christmas Wreath, whilst in the middle of the year the sweet mug of mice from Bothy Threads and the bouquet of spring flowers from Hawthorn Handmade brought cuteness and colour to our cross stiching journey. Never again put down your needle for a second and then think…where did it go?! Finally, in the accessory area this year, we want to re-shine the spotlight on two gorgeous pairs of embroidery scissors – the delicate, floral design winding around the handles of the embroidery scissors from Scheepjes give them an elegant, antique appearance.
Finally, in this last look around the needlecraft section of our warehouse for 2024, we couldn’t leave without featuring again some beautiful threads and some brilliant new stitching hoops.
New from Scheepjes in the spring, the five Candy Floss colour packs are a riot of colour, each named after delighful sweet flavours. We featured the Passionfruit collection – in 10 shades of vibrancy, from zingy lime to pale pink, they are perfect for small and delicate hand embroidery projects, handquilting, sashiko, and so much more!

A fabulous addition to our needlecraft collection at Wool Warehouse, the Nurge rectangular hoops arrived in October and we have barely been without one in our hands ever since! Light-weight, with an easy screw mechanism to tighten and loosen, and with rounded corners so you won’t snag your thread as you stitch and making it easy to sew into corners, we adore them! In range of colours and sizes, choose your favourite shade, or co-ordinate with your project – we’re collecting several in every size and we think you’ll want to do the same once you’ve popped in your new cross stitch design and begun stitching.
That’s it for our December Monthly Round-Up, and also for 2024. See you next month for a whole new year of creativity! Happy crafting, and here’s our wish for 2025 (stitched, of course!):
