Hello crafting folks! Itโs been a little over a month since our first ever crochet along with Emkat Crochet and Yarnsmiths has finished. The Spring in Bloom CAL was a baby born from Pebble Haze and Create DK, two perfect yarns for this project. As we started conversations with Helen last year, we knew we wanted something fairly simple and repetitive, this was down to it being our first CAL, and it would be easier for us to manage customer feedback. In November 2024, the colours and yarn had been chosen and ordered, the pattern was in testing, and we were gearing up for a busy Christmas in the warehouse. Fast forward to January this year, we received the pattern, and started testing it in-house, we wanted to have our own blankets, so myself and Ellie started the task of making them up in both colourways. We started formatting the pattern on our blog, and although it was a tight finish with our testing, it was all ready to go for the 26th March 2025 ๐ค

We have seen some of your amazing blankets posted on our Craft and Chat group, and weโve enjoyed seeing the feedback you have given us. We will be looking at doing another CAL at some point, and would appreciate any feedback about the Spring in Bloom CAL, ideally weโd love you to fill in the form at the bottom of this post, and submit it so we can gather the feedback and hopefully have another successful CAL next year. Please let us know of any designers you think would work well with Yarnsmiths, design features youโd like to see, and any seasonal aspects like summer, winter or autumn.
