There’s always lots happening in the warehouse and behind the scenes, we’re always striving to get your orders out to you as soon as we can. Yet where the calls come through, emails get sent and the odd query comes up, our wonderful Customer Service team are on hand to help. Overseeing the squad is Customer Service Manager, Adam; we recently caught up to find out that little bit more about his Woolly journey.

Hi, Adam! How did you make your way to Wool Warehouse? Can you tell us a little bit about your current role?

Back in 2018 my mother-in-law taught me how to crochet, which opened up my crafting world! I then saw a customer service role being advertised here and I managed to get my job at Wool Warehouse! I then learnt how to sew and make my own clothes, and then went on to try my hand at knitting, which I now love. My role has changed slightly since joining Wool Warehouse, and I’m now a Manager of the Customer Service Team.

How long have you worked at Wool Warehouse?

I started working at Wool Warehouse in 2019, and this is my 6th Year here!

Time sure does fly! What is your favourite part about your job?

Working with yarn! Always looking for something new/nice to make something with, and I love the team I work with.

What’s your favourite thing about coming to work every day?

No day is the same, I love the variety, and the people I work with, I actually love coming to work.

What’s for lunch today?

For lunch, I am trying to be healthy and love a salad, today’s was a Chicken noodle salad, absolutely delicious!

It sounds it! Do you have a favourite memory, or funny moment from work?

There have been loads of fun/funny moments over the years, but recently, one of my colleagues fell asleep while she was knitting a sample! She must have been that comfortable, she just nodded off! The office was in fits of laughter.

It certainly is a relaxing hobby! Over the years we’ve seen you make some wonderful creations; what is your favourite craft? And whilst we are at it, let us know your favourite yarn/fabric/needlecraft.

My favourite craft would depend on the project, I love crocheting, knitting, sewing, cross stitch, but if I had to choose, it would probably be crochet. My favourite yarn would have to be Drops Lima or Malabrigo Rios!

Speaking of Malabrigo Rios, we adore the Crimson Twilight Cowl you designed! Could you tell us a little more about the inspiration behind that?

I made a cowl out of Malabrigo Rios, it was something for myself and didn’t really expect to make a pattern for it. I then I got asked by a few people for the pattern, so I wrote it up and got help from a few people from WW to get it finalised.

I got the name Crimson Twilight from the colours within the shade I was using, it’s like a nice red/crimson twilight sky. I just adore looking up at the sky, especially after sunsets, the colours really are beautiful, and it’s something that is unique and different every day!

Tell us a fun fact about you

I have signed up for the London Marathon for 2026! I hope to get a place.

You’ve got this! There’s definitely such passion within the running community; as you’ve continued, what’s been the most rewarding aspect of it for you?

Running is definitely a new part of my life that I would like to keep up, it is a very sociable sport, either running with friends from here, or my brother. And you don’t really need much to do it, and is cheaper than a gym membership, and it gets you outside in the fresh air! Which we all need. I just pop my running playlist from Apple Music on and just enjoy it! The weather we have been having recently has been lovely for Parkruns on Saturday mornings or runs in the evenings. My next event is the Two Castles in June 2025, a 10km run from Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle, it should be fun apart from the majority of it being up hill!

What are your other hobbies outside of work?

Hobbies outside of work are listed above (knitting, crochet and sewing), but I also love running, long country walks and holidays in the UK. I have recently completed my 2nd Skydive, and raised money for Myton Hospice, with a few of my friends here at WW.

A HUGE well done to you and the rest of the team! Myton Hospice has helped so many of our own family members and loved ones; how did that feel to raise that amount of money and be part of something that would help such a wonderful charity?

With Myton Hospice being quite a big charity to the local area, we all know of someone that has needed their help with friends or family members. At Wool Warehouse we like to try and support them, we try and do the Santa Dash when we can, which is a 5km run/walk in/around Leamington Spa.

When I saw an advert that Myton Hospice do sponsored skydives, I had to try and get a few people together to take part. At this current moment, we have raised £6770, which I am over the moon with! Everyone loved taking part!

Absolutely incredible – well done to you all, again! When you’re not jumping out of planes, tell us a little bit about your day-to-day at work? What do you get up to?

My day to day is very different: it could be helping the team with any challenging questions, down to knitting/crocheting swatches with new lovely yarn!

Three things you would love to learn/master/execute…

Cable knitting, learn how to write knitting/crochet patterns and something totally different, building a wall/laying a patio!

How do you normally spend your weekends?

Tinkering with something, whether it be in the garden, crafting or running.

You’ve recently purchased Mabel, your fabulous caravan! Could you tell us a little bit more about her and what drew you to that particular model?

We recently thought about buying a camper van, but that meant one of us would then lose a car, and having a van as an everyday car is not very practical, so we then turned to small caravans, we both love the ‘teardrop’ style caravans, so we looked at the brand T@B/TAB, and Mabel was there waiting for new adventures!

She’s fabulous! Other than Mabel, your husband and pooch, what are three things you can’t live without?

Nice yarn, chocolate and cake!

Here, here! Thanks for taking the time to catch up with us today, Adam! Now, where’s that cake… 🍰
