The month of September within the Fabric department has seen a variety of seasons being shopped. We’ve witnessed the traditional tones of Christmas being cut, as fabrics adorned with gold metallic have certainly been inspiring many of you. Others have been getting into the Halloween spirit of things, which is always another fun sight to see!
As for newness within the warehouse, let’s take a look at our latest collections!
Sandalwood – Moda 🌿
Rich indigos, gorgeous aquas and dusky rose tones are a few of the colours featured in Sandalwood from Moda, the latest collection to hit the fabric department. Designed by brand favourites 3 Sisters, Sandalwood tips a hat to their signature florals, yet explores richer tones than their previous ranges.

As for the inspiration behind the collection, Moda states via their lookbook:
“Stroll through a field of flowers with 3 Sisters as the setting sun casts a rose-gold glow on wild blooms waving in the breeze. Along the horizon, the sky fades from a dusty, minty blue into a soft rose quartz pink, while the edges of the sky are tinged with the inky indigo of night. With Sandalwood, 3 Sisters — known for their eclectic interpretation of nostalgic designs with a contemporary sensibility — have combined romantic, sophisticated prints with a stylish color palette to capture those fleeting, magical moments when day turns to night.“
The above sentiments certainly shine through when viewing the collection, ticking off everything they’re hoping to convey across the collection. And with a wonderful 29% off, there’s never been a better chance to be enraptured by its true beauty. To view the full range, simply click HERE.
Woodland Park – Ruby Star Society 🦊
Ruby Star Society houses a number of wonderfully talented designers, and Woodland Park showcases Rashida Coleman-Hale’s exceptional illustrations perfectly. Another newbie to the department, Woodland Park features fun and quirky pattern repeats alongside super-cute critters.
It’s the perfect blend of modern whimsy, as Coleman-Hale always brings the fun to another of her collections. Using mustard yellow, punchy cerise and cobalt blue, the entirety of Woodland Park compliments together, yet stands just as strong apart. We’re absolutely loving the tones used for Flower Plaid in Blue Ribbon, with the Sup Animals design taking another one of our top spots.

We’re thrilled that you’re all loving Woodland Park just as much as we are and, as always, we can’t wait to see what Rashida and the whole RSS team enchant us with next. To view the full collection, introduced with a fantastic 34% saving, simply click HERE.
Ruby Star Society’s designers always come through with some seriously ace collections, yet they also treat us to many free patterns. From quilts, tablewear and even Christmas tree skirts, there are plenty of RSS projects to excite and inspire HERE.
In The Spirit Of Things… 👻
We’ve noticed your Halloween themed orders trickle through more and more, getting us Woolly Workers wondering what creepy creations you’re crafting! As we move into October, we thought we’d showcase some of our other favourite one-shots and other collections to inspire you all this Halloween season.
Firstly, we’re heading back into Ruby Star Society with a collaborative collection that sparks nothing but pure magic. Featuring ghouls, skulls, owls and florals, Good Spirits delivers classic Halloween iconography while adding a modern twist. Our personal favourite design within the collection has to be Hey Boo, featuring many frightfully fabulous Halloween ladies! Vampires, mummies, cats, bats and more are quick to impress in both Ghostly and the Crème Brulee colourways.

As one-shots, we’re so loving this glow in the dark Star Wars print! Stylised R2-D2 and C-3PO feature throughout, surrounded by iconography from the series, complete plenty of bats, webs and bones to bring the scares. Yet we can’t round out Halloween without a nod to Slasher Season! Freddy Krueger’s leapt out of our dreams and onto the fabric for the Nightmare On Elm Street design. Featuring street signs, Freddy’s bladed glove and a silhoutte of the antagonist himself, this one-shot’s a celebration to a Horror icon crafted by the late, great visionary, Wes Craven.
Our final Slasher one-shot is by no means Child’s Play…yet for Chucky it is! Featuring the ‘Good Guy’ and the not-so-Good-Guy, little Chucky is scattered across this denim blue fabric, asking his ultimate question – “Wanna Play?”. Perfect for Horror and Slasher fans alike, Don Mancini’s iconic character continues to be a celebrated one over many mediums in the genre.
No Tricks, All Treats 🍬
These days, there are plenty of receptacles to take out on Halloween night. Many take tubs shaped like ghouls, gourds and goblins; some take a good old-fashioned pillowcase – any option serves its purpose once it’s kindly filled with treats! Yet if you’re looking for something that’s a little different to, above-boardly, stalk the streets with, Lewis & Irene have the solution with their Haunted House Treat Bag.
Sold by the panel, they also feature glow in the dark motifs. Each panel creates two bags with handles and three little stuffies – so cute! Once sewn, all you’ll need to do it head on out with the ghoul gang! Fingers crossed, it’s all treats.

Lewis & Irene are renowed for their high quality and playful designs, so it’s no surprise that their foray into glow in the dark fabric has only added to the whimsy. Over the years, many seasons and designs have offered their signature glow, yet our favourite use of the technique has to be for Halloween.
The subtlety of the glow doesn’t distract from any part of the design in daylight, and its texture is far from a horror to work with. Yet when the lights go out, we’re able to see what’s really lurking in the darkness. Depending on your personal scare-o-meter, we think the addition of the glow really sets it apart from the rest!
Best Of The Rest ✂️
As we close out with some seriously spellbinding collections, our final selections of the month go to some other frightfully fun ranges! Lewis & Irene’s Cast A Spell showcases cauldrons, bats and spells, complete with a touch of silver metallic. In true Lewis & Irene fashion, there’s even a free wall hanging quilt pattern to go with the collection HERE.
Moda’s Too Cute To Spook offers fun Jack O’Lanterns in Orange, Black and White, with the collection featuring some fun and stylised blenders. Finally, 3 Wishes’ Monster Squad brings the pals together as Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster and mummies feature. Adding smiley skeletons and busy spiders to the mix, this collection is nothing but squad goals!
That’s it from me for another month – Don’t forget to check out what Alex has got in store for this month’s yarn and projects, and what Annette’s taking a closer look at for all things needlecraft! ✨
