As we move further into month of October, we’re soon to welcome the chill in the air and the louder crunch from crisp orange leaves underfoot, even if the season sometimes has us wanting to head home and reach for the cosy blankets! Yet surrounding ourselves in nature at this stunning time of year offers such a rich paintbox of colour, alongside a wealth of wildlife that’s always a treat to see. Thankfully for us all, Autumn Forest from Moda manages to capture those essences of this season, perfectly.
Designed by illustrator and business owner Linn Warme, Autumn Forest encapsulates this time of year by using wonderfully rich tones across this ten-piece collection. When discussing the inspiration for the collection via Moda’s look book, Linn draws from her idyllic home life in Sweden:

“Autumn Forest is inspired by the changing seasons, how nature dramatically changes as summer gives way to fall. In Sweden, nature is all around, deer and hedgehogs are often seen in the garden, and the kids gather pinecones for crafts.
The leaves are changing colors, and on forest walks, you can pick wild mushrooms and blueberries.”
Moda continues:
“Linn Warme’s collection captures the essence of this magical time of year. The designs showcase the beauty of the autumn season, where the rustling sound of leaves underfoot reminds us of the brisk winds calling for a new beginning. […] Her work is full of life, often drawing inspirtion from nature, color and textiles – elements she explores in every design she creates.”
It’s clear to see that Linn does all of this and more. When looking at the collection, it’s reminiscent of illustrations of classic children’s books; marrying classic linework and attention to detail with a perfect juxtapostion of elements, piecing together a wonderful story within each piece to work with its hero design.

As always, we always like to make life hard for ourselves in these posts by selecting a few of our favourites! For this month, we’re selecting a stunning mix of autumnal tones to elevate Linn’s main design, Woodland Animals, in sand. We’re loving the minute details in the Golden colourway of Mushroom Mirage; another one of our faves are the Pinecones in Russet. Lastly, but by no means least, is Fall Florals in Leaf, tying everything together in a perfect bow.
We’re thrilled to be housing this collection and with Linn Warme being a relatively new addition to Moda’s home of wonderful artists, we can’t wait to see what she and Moda do together next. To view the full collection, simply click HERE.
That’s it from us for this week; be sure to join us a little later on in the month for another Fabric Focus. If you’re enjoying what we’re creating in The Craft Room, be sure to enter your email below to subscribe! ⤵✨
