Hi, Alex! What are your favourite things about the Halloween season?
Absolutely everything! The instant I spot those bags of sweets prominently displayed in the supermarkets, my excitement levels rise! For me, it’s all about watching a creepy film (a scare a day keeps the doctor away!), putting on costumes, and adorning my space! I love crocheting adorable pumpkins to decorate the fireplace – so twee!
We hear you! Are there any shows or movies that you love to watch this time of year?
I am rewatching Stranger Things, just as the last season is out this December and it has an eerie theme to it! I am also a big fan of Freddy vs Jason film, always thought it was really cool to see two horror legends come together and battle it out!
What upcoming Horrors are on your watchlist?
Although I love Halloween, I get scared EASILY. Sometimes just bumping into folks in the warehouse is enough to make me jump. I recently watched Together at the cinemas, and although it’s not a super horror movie, it’s just a bit weird, which is equally as fun. The trailers showed some cool films coming out, including the second Black Phone and The Strangers, which was an OK remake! I’ll be adding both of those to my watchlist for when they’re released.
Same, here! In the somewhat words of Ghostface (IYKYK), what are your top three favourite scary movies?
Most of mine are from the 00’s, as that was the best time IMO!

- Jeepers Creepers
- Blair Witch Project
Can’t go wrong with any of these! I used to think the Creeper was following me on my drive home through the woods when I was younger HA! Still do TBF.
Relatable! Have you got any plans coming up to celebrate?
My partner and I have just bought our first house, and we are excited to have people round for our first Halloween. It’ll be a great opportunity for us to put our pumpkins outside and welcome trick or treaters to knock on our door! I am also joining my running group, The Endorphin Chasers for a Halloween run, which will include a fun group run to solve creepy clues and riddles that will lead us to mysterious destinations!
Sounds great; enjoy! Is there anything you’re working on project-wise to avoid the jumpscares?
All my projects are a jumpscare at the moment – Since moving house I haven’t had time to unpack anything, as we’re doing the house up and everything is a state! I am about to start the Edna Hooded Scarf by WaveLengths and will be using Yarnsmiths Merino Heathers DK. I’ll also be finishing of two baby gifts and a wedding present – send HELP!
