We know, we know – it feels too early! But for many of us crafters, this time of year is when the Christmas crafts really start to ramp up. Whether it’s planning what you’re making for gifts or grabbing a kit for yourself to make over the festive season, giving yourself enough time for completion is always key.
However, if you’re a little short on ideas this year for yourself or a loved one, we’ve got quite the selection to go through for this month’s edition of The Stitchuation. So grab yourself your favourite drink and settle in as we take you through our Festive Fayre!
Quite The Stocking Filler
We love a little helping hand when it comes to our projects, so when it comes to themed versions, it’s not hard to find them even more magical than before. We’ve never shied away on The Stitchuation when it comes to our love for needle minders, and this time is no different. The little magnetic marvels are a wonder when it comes to your cross stitch projects. Simply pop the design onto your fabric, fix the magnet at the back and hey presto, you’ll never lose a needle again!
Of course with this being our version of a Christmas special, we had to include our current faves! The pair of Ice Skates from Caterpillar Cross Stitch is one that’s certainly on our wishlists right now. The mix of colours from the enamel and gold-toned backing and line work isn’t the only shining element to the piece – it’s the quality, too.

Bringing a more Hygge and rustic vibe is Hawthorn Handmade’s Christmas Gonk. Made from maple wood, this fun and whimsical little pal is sure to brighten up your project mid-stitch! Both are practical as needleminders, yet there are other fun ways to repurpose these during the festive period, for example to jazz up your lapel! However you choose to utilise them, please be sure to practice magnet safety, especially when wearing.
Lastly for our little stocking filler collection, we’re loving the final season covered in Bothy Threads’ project bag series with the Cosy Crafter design! Measuring 28cm by 31cm, this bag’s able to fit in a variety of crafting paraphernalia such as your embroidery hoop, threads and pattern. Using recycled 100% cotton, not only are they stylish and perfect for the season, they’re mindfully made, too.
Home For Christmas
Many of us in the warehouse are a sucker when it comes to Christmas decor and our warehouse certainly offers many a temptation. We’ve seen some new brands come through over the course of 2025 and Orchidea is one of them. They’re sure to feature a few times throughout this post and for good reason – they sure do the season well!
First up is their Santa Cushion latch hook kit! The man with the bag is sure is bright and jolly in this kit as he makes his way across the world, complete with pre-cut yarn, 4.5ct Zweigart canvas and a latch hook. Bringing that classic style into modern day, he’s sure to become quite the talking point as he sits on your sofa! Another from Orchidea is the Snowflake Tissue Box Cover, offering you just another way to add some festive cheer into your home.

Our other favourite homeware picks go Rico’s stunning Santa Claus Table Cloth! Featuring backstitch and French knots, the details really make this tableware shine like the star on top of a tree! It’s one you’re able to make and reuse year after year, making any mealtime feel extra special.
Finally, Vervaco’s latest festive release includes this fabulous Candy Cane cushion and one that’s sure to brighten up any space. This Candy Cane is one of three designs of a collection, with a cute Gingerbread Man and a Christmas Tree available to complete the range. Using golden brown tones, rich reds and pops of pink, the shading technique that’s showcased here really is impressive.
There’s Snow Place Like Home
We’re wrapped up warm and heading outside, as we walk down those wintery streets to view some wonderfully dressed homes at Christmastime. These kits really feel like such a snapshot of this time of year, truly capturing the magic of the season.
Trimits are producing some stunning kits with their Christmas release, offering budget-friendly options across a variety of impressive projects. Their Festive House cross stitch kit showcases an idyllic scene, complete with lush decorated trees, wreaths and garlands underneath a snowy midnight sky.
Another wonderfully impressive frontage comes courtesy of Bothy Threads in their Christmas Townhouse kit. Based on original artwork by Sally Swannell, this complete kit offers a view of a snowy morning as little robin and dog look over to a dressed snowman, wrapped up for the day!

Bothy are known for their detailed kits and this one certainly doesn’t scrimp on those; backstitch features heavily, tying the perfect bow to complete this stunning image, adding details to red brick, windows and wreaths. Perfect to make for a gift or for yourself, this kit’s sure to even stop Father Christmas in his tracks!
Finally, we’re bringing another tree back in this beautiful Christmas Traditions stocking from Dimensions. Surrounded by snow and twinkling lights, two little ones and their pooch are pulling their newest tree back home on their sled, greeted by a smiling snowman. Featuring vivid reds, gorgeous twilight blues and luminous golds, this personalised stocking is certainly one to make and cherish.
Snowy Scenery
If you’ve not already guessed, we love a scene covered in a blanket of brilliant white snow! Our filing cabinets are blessed with many designers and brands that do Christmas oh-so-well, so believe me when I say that whittling it down to these three was a tough choice for myself and Ellie!
For our first kit, we’re embellishing the natural beauty with the woodland animals in Vervaco’s Decorating For Christmas cross stitch kit. Little bunnies watch on as our main character finds the perfect tree to add some baubles to! Using colours of the season, this kit utilities shade changes perfectly when it comes to depth of field, delivering a final image to truly get lost in.

Next up is another of Bothy Threads’ favourite artists, Lucy Pittaway. Known for her artworks depicting sheep in nature, this journey has them stumbled across an interesting frontage in The Wool Shop. The somewhat juxtaposition of the image offers humourous irony, with one sheep looking to their friend as if to say “are ewe seeing this?!” – yes, yes – I had to pop a pun in here, somewhere! This one’s sure to cause a smirk when stitching!
Finally, the seasonal jar collection from Orchidea sees winter fill the glass as a Robin watches on. Each kit offers the same stunning vista of a cottage and garden changing with each season. The Winter Jar is the only one that takes place at twilight, offering a truly different feel as we see the snow blanketing the property in an idyllic image.
Special Delivery
Who doesn’t love a card at Christmas? We know we do! Making a card for a loved one is not only a wonderful way to offer a further personal touch, it also provides a piece of art that the recipient can display each year.
We’re absolutely loving Orchidea’s Christmas card collection, this year! Both Silent Night and the Pretty Bauble cards offer designs that expertly tie into its card design, offering a window of handmade efforts as a focal point. It’s truly impressive how they’ve managed to fuse art and cross stitch together in such a way; thankfully for us all, they also offer designs for the rest of the year, too.

Year after year, Bothy Threads always deliver when it comes to a fun and festive card kit. Featured on 16-count ice blue Zweigart aida, both Christmas Kiss and the Hat, Scarf, Gloves! card kits are boxed with everything you need. Featuring patterns based on original artwork by Margaret Sherry and Kate Garrett, these cards are perfect for fans of these artists and all things cute.
Deck The Halls
Decorating can mean more than just dressing the tree when it comes to Christmas, and these picks can help you spread that festive cheer further around the house. Starting with Hawthorn Handmade, their Christmas Baubles felt craft kit offers three fun designs in a modernised colourway. The beginner-friendly kit contains everything you’ll need to get started; before you know it you’ll be done and hanging these around your home! The Historical Sampler Company’s our next pick with their Festive Noel mini project! Complete with little jingle bells, this small kit will make a big impression to segue you into the season.

Dimensions steps up the difficulty with this next kit in their Gold collection. Containing six decorations to make, the Xmas Village Ornaments offers some stunning scenery across 18-count aida, using a variety of different techniques to bring vast details to a small area. What’s crafted are six pieces that are truly special, displaying that vintage feel as a nod to days gone by.
Finally, Rico’s range of bow kits truly bring the cheer with a fun and unique canvas to stitch on. Featuring Christmas trees, Father Christmas, a gingerbread house and Reindeer, the It’s Christmas Time kit is something to make and enjoy time and again, year after year.
‘Tis The Season for Stitchrovia
Last but by no means least is a selection from Stitchrovia! We’re huge fans of Emma Congdon and her signature typography style here in the warehouse and, thankfully for us all, there’s plenty of her designs to be stitched for the festive period.

Emma’s designed for a number of brands including Caterpillar Cross Stitch. Both Season’s Greetings and Believe In Magic kits display her beautiful works around festive designs – we love Santa and his reindeer flying through the sky on the navy aida! Each kit includes everything you need to take your kit from pattern to finished piece.
Our final selection goes to Emma’s latest book, Merry Stitchmas. Featuring 24 designs, there’s plenty to keep you busier than an elf in a workshop! We can assure you, Merry Stitchmas is the gift that keeps on giving!
