We’re heading away from all things haunting and stepping into a winter wonderland for this week’s Fabric Focus! Liberty Fabrics continue to shine like a star at the top of the tree when it comes to a stunning Christmas collection and Festive Greetings is no different. Let’s see what they’re spoiling us with under the tree this year!
The Inspiration . . .
Winter Villages, seasonal Emily Belles and striking sprigs of Holly are soon to greet us, offering metallics here and there within the range to add that extra layer of festive sparkle. As for the inspiration behind the collection, Liberty Fabrics state via their lookbook:
“Sparked by the magic of Christmas, the Festive Greetings collection celebrates the highlights of the Yuletide season. In true Liberty style, we revisit cherished traditions and activities, discovering a treasure trove of delights. Embark with us on a journey through snowy landscapes, cosy havens, and twinkling night skies, where tumbling gifts, shimmering stars, and festive florals are accompanied by heartfelt holiday greetings from Liberty.”
Liberty Fabrics never fail when it comes to the details, either. A few designs feature beautiful metallics across classic blenders, with Emily Belle reworked into Emily Star, featuring stunning gold stars in green, red and blue to suit an array of different colour schemes. Wiltshire Shade makes its welcomed reappearance for the collection, available in both silver and gold metallic.
Our Favourites . . .
As divine as Festive Greetings is, there are a few designs that immediately caught our attention as soon as they arrived in the warehouse. First up is Festive Gifting in the and Festive colourway. Featuring vintage-style gifts, tags and sweets, the more you look at the design, the more treats you’re bound to find! We love the scattered foliage in these traditional and modern colourways.
With that said, we’re sticking with the traditional hues for our faves of the moment, as we head to the Festive Village! Not only does the Festive colourway, once again, offer a somewhat modernised palette for the season, we love spotting its residents just as much! Whether it’s someone walking the dog or a neighbour heading for a morning of sledding, seeing who you can spot is a sure way to make your project that much more fun. Our final pick of the week goes to Emily Star in Green – who doesn’t love a pop of gold now and again?!

To accompany and showcase the collection, Liberty Fabrics has released the Festive Greetings quilt, which is kindly free to download HERE.
Designed by Matthew Pridemore, the quilt features stunning block patterns in between rows of cute little houses that uses different colourways of the same design, Festive Village, to offer a shading effect.
One for seasoned quilters, this design is one to craft and enjoy time and again, year after year. Whether you’re quilting it for yourself or for a loved one, it’s a project to cherish for years to come.
