We’re heading further into Santa’s Grotto this week, as we take a look at another festive collection for this week’s Fabric Focus. Intricate patterns and winter wonders await, as we explore Makower’s Scandi Christmas.
Year on year, Makower have always treated us sewers and quilters well with a stunning variety of Christmas collections. For fans of Makower, you’ll know that Scandi Christmas bears resemblance to previous ranges, yet 2025’s rework and additions are, hands down, our favourite iteration of the designs, yet.
While similar, previous collections have focused on red and grey, making the introduction of a beautiful evergreen welcome, allowing each design to be featured in one of these three colours. Whether you’re keen to blend the collection or keep things a little monochromatic, Scandi Christmas will still tone in and work nicely with previous ranges, if you’ve still got a little left over from past collections.
We’re, of course, loving this year’s main design – aptly named ‘Christmas’, 2025’s hero print features leaping reindeer, decorative baubles and beautifully intricate winter foliage. Working well alone, using the blenders to accompany the design simply elevates your creation.
Pictured on the right, we’re loving the Hearts, Holly, the Charms and the Stars – basically, as per, we couldn’t choose! The mix of red and green here, especially against the snow-white background and detailing, really is striking.
Also back for 2025 is their advent panel for the collection! White detailing pops on crimson red, with the panel offering full instructions on how to create something to enjoy, year in, year out. To view the advent panel, simply click HERE.

We’ve got some free patterns for you! With each Scandi-style collection, Makower have crafted a quilting pattern. Of course, most of these links will hold previous collections, yet stash-dependant, you could see what you already have a grab a couple of new lines to make your own version of one of these stunning designs.
Working from left to right: the Wallhanging and cushion pattern, the 2021 quilt pattern, the 2019 quilt pattern and finally, the Scandi quilt, runner and cushion pattern.
