This year, The Craft Room had the pleasure of shining a spotlight on some wonderful designers. Learning about these designers has inspired us throughout the year, and learning a little more about them has been fabulous for us, and hopefully for you too!
We kicked things off with Dee from The Crocheted Cabin. Dee is a much loved member of our crochet community and a big supporter of our Yarnsmiths ranges. Her nature inspired crochet blankets including favourites like the Autumn Garden and Sea Glass designs are known for their thoughtful colour choices and easy to follow patterns that still feel like true labours of love. Crocheters love her patterns, just as much as we do! Favourites include the newest design, Winter Forest and her classic autumnal designs!

In the summer, we enjoyed chatting with American illustrator Emiko Rainbow. Her bright, joyful artwork caught the attention of the Craft Cotton Company and became part of their HoliDazzle fabric collection. It was a treat to learn more about her creative process and the ideas behind her playful designs, especially as our other spotlights have been on designers in the craft world. Seeing different peoples crafts is really fun, and especially for fabric lovers. We fall in love with the prints and designs, and getting to know the illustrators behind these prints is what super fun!
As late summer came in, we put the spotlight on Francesca from Kingscote Designs. Some of you may know Francesca from working here in the warehouse, but you may not have put the connection of Kingscote Designs with her. Her first pattern with us was the Forget Bee Not blanket, which combines our Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze Aran with simple stitches to make a gorgeous baby blanket. She has gone on to use Yarnsmiths Chenille and Freespirit in some beautiful larger designs, Threads of Love and Threads of Memories.

To finish the year, we headed into winter with a conversation with Hooked on Candy, the amigurumi designer behind many well loved cute makes. Candy has also created popular festive patterns for Yarnsmiths, including the Rocking Robin and a range of festive animals, all offered as free downloads on our website.
Overall, itβs been a year full of creativity, colour, and inspiring stories from designers who bring the crafting world to life. Who would you like to see for 2026? Toodalaoooo for now πβ¨πΈπ«π
