Welcome to 2026, one and all! We hope you’re having a wonderful new year so far! ✨
While we welcome 2026 and ponder over what this new year may bring, we’re back with our first Fabric Focus of the year, selecting a collection that’s sure to brighten the dullest of January skies. This week, we’re exploring Debbie’s Shore’s Bohemian Waters.
Inspired by classic and traditional art from narrowboats gliding through the British waterways, Bohemian Waters almost takes us back in time with its art style. But before we dive any further into the collection, collection designer Debbie Shore is deserving of just as many column inches.
Incredibly well-known in the quilting community, Debbie Shore has worn many hats across her career, including acting and presenting! Renowned for her award-winning crafting books and helpful tutorials, Debbie’s tips and tricks are spread far and wide, as she co-founded the Half Yard Sewing Club, a site and digital magazine to further inspire quilters and sewers.
Family is something that’s threaded through Debbie’s passion for sewing. Her mother was a dressmaker, clearly inspiring her to do the same! Debbie’s daughter Kimberley was also inspired to create clothes for her daughter, with Debbie teaching her the basics.
Cut to present day and this pair are quite the team! With designing their own ranges for Craft Cotton Company separately and co-authoring books together, alongside creative events, it’s clear that superb sewing runs in the family!

Smooth Sailing…
Ever since it’s arrival in the warehouse, Bohemian Waters has been incredibly popular with so many of you, and it’s clear to see why. Each design within the collection stands strong its own, yet together, the range is perfection. Incredibly cohesive, the details featured within each piece are a joy to discover.
From the vibrant and rich tones used, to the mallards swimming along the waterways, Bohemian Waters takes you back to those moments of serenity. Whether you’ve enjoyed a peaceful walk alongside the canals, or spent an afternoon in a pub garden barge-spotting, these motifs and hand-painted design styles are sure to bring a smile and a little sunshine to any day.

As for our favourites of the week, our top spot would have to go to Barge Bouquet in both Crimson and Blue! With cerise roses and vibrant lime green leaves popping off the background colours, Barge Bouquet continues to be eye-catching in this state of eternal bloom. We’re also loving the Bohemian Border, as the details and line work evokes those narrow lines to sail down on a summer’s day! Plus the patterned ducks swimming and splashing around simply add to the whimsy of this collection, with the hues used feeling even more vibrant featured on its dark background.
Have you used Bohemian Waters for your projects? If so, we’d love to see! Be sure to share your photos of your makes at any stages over on our social media, using #WoolWarehouseCrafters. If you’re not already, be sure to enter your email below to subscribe to The Craft Room ⤵️✨
