We’re well into our third week of the new year and we’re back with another Woolly catch up! We’ve spent some time with Alex and Gemma to see what their 2026 plans were; this week, it’s the turn of Fabric Manager Judith!

Hi, Judith! What lovely things have you made in 2025?

To be honest, 2025 hasn’t been a very productive year of crafting for me. I moved into a new home last Autumn, so my creative energy has been directed to settling in, trying and occasionally failing DIY, and bringing life to my tiny garden. I’ve loved it, but it hasn’t left much space for my usual hobbies.

I did make time for a few smaller projects. I sewed some draft excluders from vintage Habitat wax print cotton which my Mum passed on to me (stuffed with scraps from the Wool Warehouse fabric room!) and turned two felted-in-the-wash jumpers into some new mittens for cycling. This summer I also altered and dyed a vintage Laura Ashley dress that I discovered in a charity shop – such a satisfying project!

All still sounds like a wonderfully busy one and some fab makes there, too! I bet you can’t wait to see what blooms in your lovely garden in the new year! What are you hoping to finish for 2026?

I love to knit but have had a couple of unsuccessful projects this year – a hat for my niece that was too small, and a vest for me that was too big! I’d like to redeem myself with a completed garment and have a few gorgeous skeins of Baa Ram Ewe ‘Coast’ from the unravelled vest. I had to soak and block the wool as it was too ‘noodly’ to use right away, and now I’m trying to decide what it will become next as I’m torn between two very different patterns. I hope for it to at least be a work-in-progress before the new year.

Hey, they were still made – a win is a win! Are there any projects you’re hoping to start?

Always! I’m lucky enough to have a spare room, and am excited to get a proper, permanent sewing space set up in 2026. I’m feeling particularly inspired to make soft furnishings for my flat and have a long list of ideas- a Pojagi curtain for my spare room, a seat pad for my dining bench, a log cabin patchwork cushion for my sofa, a proper quilt for my bed… We’ll see what I get round to.

The sewing space sounds ace, alongside your other plans. More lovely things to look at around your new home! Are there any other resolutions that you’d like to share that may be non-crafting related?

I find I’m much more likely to stick to resolutions when I don’t share them 😉
