Another week, another Fabric Focus for us to all get our teeth into! This week, we’re exploring a mixed bag of wonders with Liberty Fabrics, as The Artist’s Home range is what’s underneath our spotlight this week!
Featuring a blend of classic and modern design, The Artist’s Home is just another collection that encapsulates Liberty Fabrics’ fine design over the years. But before we dive further into our favourites, let’s take a look at the the inspiration for the collection, as stories behind any range is always an intriguing read!:
“[…] Inspired by the wonder and escapism of the artist’s home – a reflection on eclecticism and colour, filled with vibrant details to spark inspiration. Our designers drew influence from historic creative retreats including Charleston Farmhouse, a romantic countryside escape famed for its hand-painted decorative interiors, as well as Yves Saint Laurent’s idyllic Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, and Barbara Hepworth’s sculpture studio and gardens on the dramatic Cornish coast.”
They continue:
“Traditionally screen printed onto soft Lasenby cotton, The Artist’s Home collection encompasses new painted artworks such as Sketchbook Bloom, Summer Sketch and Studio Stripe, complemented by designs revived from the Liberty archive and reimagined into exciting new colourways.”
With such a rich history attached to Liberty and its ventures into many areas alongside fabric, it’s no wonder that the archival pieces and designs serve as the perfect place to revitalise classic prints. Without further ado, let’s get into our favourites!
We’re absolutely loving the pops of brights, especially for this frosty time of year – we need all the sunshine we can get here at HQ! First up, the Kelmscott Silhouette in Bright Blue has us dreaming of brilliant skies, alongside Spotty Dotty in Yellow. Can you tell we’re wishing the warm weather closer?! Lastly, but by no means least, the Painter’s Vase design in the Bright colourway brings further cheers, as grabbing yourself a bunch of pretty blooms always seems like a great idea.
