January Fabric ✂️

Hello one and all! It always feels like only a second ago since I wrote December’s round-up, but I’m excited to be back and talking you through some of the highlights that have been cheering up your stashes this past month!

I’ll be bringing you some fantastic free quilting projects, but before I do that, our Fabric department’s seen some fabulous deliveries in recent weeks and with many more stunning lines arriving soon, let’s take a look at some ranges you may have missed in all the wonderful mayhem that is January! First up, we’re surrounding ourselves with all things bright as we visit Tula Pink!

True Colours – Tula Pink 💗

We’re wanting to paint our world with bright colours this time of the year and, for that, there’s no better designer to spend some time with than Tula Pink herself. Celebrated for her full use of the rainbow and every shade in it, we’re taking a look at Tula’s basics collection – which feels anything but!

True Colors has quickly become a staple collection for Tula fans everywhere. Present joins hands with past and future here, as this range is designed to slot in perfectly with her previous collections, as well as tying in with many to come.

Appealing to many quilters, especially those fond of maximalist design, True Colors feels like a one-stop shop to top up your brights with. Covering florals in What A Ditz, white-on-whites and white-on-greys with the Ghost lines, to impressive line work in On The Grid, or sending things into orbit with Space Sprinkles, there’s plenty of inspiration to be had as you excitedly explore the wonderful world of Tula Pink!

Yet True Colors isn’t just reserved for tone-matching or using as a blender, the Woven Ribbons quilt pattern utilises the collection brilliantly, bringing in quite the pop of vibrancy anywhere in the home. Perfect for those intermediate quilters, you can check out the free project HERE.

Love Letter – Moda 🦢

Enchanted by the tones and touched by its sentiment, Love Letter from Moda had charmed people both in and out of the warehouse for a number of reasons. Featuring designer Lizzy House’s wonderful illustrations, this small-but-mighty range saw her debut collection solidify her staying power in Moda’s bank of talented designers.

Inspired by a poignant verse from John Rutter’s Candlelight Carol, Love Letter’s roots appear to travel that much deeper, mirroring elements of Lizzy House’s personal journey into motherhood as Moda’s lookbook explains:

“Where do you go to find your fondest memories? How do you keep them close by? Love Letter is an exploration of these ideas: Swans and their cygnets, ripe strawberries, unexpected birthday flowers, the enchantment of a garden, botanicals from a hidden mountain forest, the smell of a line-dried dress, and a
long-treasured gift. All these things denote the love of a mother for her baby, the growing and stretching of a woman, and the evolution of an artist.”

A truly multifaceted collection with a heartfelt message that resonates with many. My personal favourites within the collection would have to be Fairy Garden, alongside the Elderberry Blossoms in both Amber and Seafoam. Of course, the Little Loves are always a heart-warming view as they all glide along the water!

With beautiful illustrations conveying family and renewal, Love Letter encapsulates unconditional love and the strongest of bonds, beautifully. Perfect for nurseries or to craft something as a timeless gift for your nearest and dearest, Love Letter is a collection to cherish. Cosy Home – Lewis & Irene 🏡

Although I’m looking forward to seeing the spring in full-bloom, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t still very much enjoying the cosier nights with the candles on, complete with a cuppa and a blanket. Judging by just how many of you have been loving Lewis & Irene’s Cosy Home this month, I’m not alone!

Lewis and Irene cite primitive folk art as the origins of their inspiration for the collection, and it’s safe to say that they’ve really stayed true to what they set out to achieve. Featuring traditional quilt design with beautifully rich and warm tones, each line feels like a moment in time, truly standing strong alone or as part of the whole collection.

It’s always hard to nail down one favourite in particular, yet the motifs used in Cosy Scroll really do remind us of those simple things in life that can bring a smile to our faces. Tonal delights in Cosy Home and Garden in Cream, Blue and Autumn Mist feel fun and wonderfully organic, as each sketched design feels quaint yet purposeful in its simplicity. The Large Squares Panel also offer a variety of uses, yet are perfect for cushions; where a personal favourite of mine would have to be the Little Chequered designs in Mid Blue and Milk Chocolate – too cute!

Much like many, many other collections from Lewis and Irene, Sally Ablett’s back and has designed another showstopper of a quilt for us all – oh, and did I mention that it’s free?! Even better! Designed in three colourways, each table topper offers such a different look with each iteration, bringing a different vibe and focal point to suit your home.
