We welcomed our Yarnsmiths Chenille DK range last week, which has been a great addition to our Yarnsmiths plush ranges.

Yarnsmiths Chenille Chunky is one of our most popular ranges, so it only made sense for us to introduce its baby sister, DK. The cute 50g balls of plush Chenille come in 40 shades, ranging from fabulous brights to subtle pastels. We chose shades that are most popular from our Chunky range, and there’s always room for more colours to be added in the future.

We’ve had some wonderful feedback from our crafting family, especially from Abi Nicholls, who crocheted her frog design using the DK to compare with the Chunky version. The picture shows how the two different weights produce different effecs for the same pattern, with both interpretations looking fabulous. You can buy the pattern HERE.
Along the journey of Chenille DK, we collaborated with Sam Sabido to create a gorgeous jacket design. One of the most popular questions we get asked on social media, about Chenille, is regarding suitable patterns for simple jackets/cardigans. Sam’s work aligns perfectly with the Chenille aesthetic, as it features vibrant colours with a beautiful design. She crocheted the granny square bomber jacket using shades Oatmeal, Bubblegum, Tropical Teal, Candyfloss Pink, Apple Green and Aqua. You’ll find the pattern as a free download HERE.

We have also revisited the lovely Kaleidoscope jumper from our Create 120 launch. We re-made it in soft shades of green and parchment, alongside some vibrant colours for a cute children’s version. These shades work perfectly with the design, without the jumper feeling overwhelming or heavy. The simplicity of the Kaleidoscope jumper contrasts beautifully with the colour’s choices. Let’s have a look at some colour inspiration… For those who appreciate neutral tones, why not consider this combo for homewares? Blush, Parchment and Latte. The shades can create a lovely contrast, making them perfect for a cosy blanket, or even a plush cushion. For added depth or contrast, you could add Brown Bear or Rust for the border. Other shades that work nicely together would be some fun brights on a nice cream background, or if you wanted to bring some nature in doors, you could add all the greens to a palette of Oatmeal! My personal favourite is 70’s wallpaper 😂🫠

We hope you love our Chenille DK as much as we do, shop all 40 shades HERE. Toooodalooo for now! 🌈🎉✨❤️
