Ahh May, my favourite month. It brings me so much joy, especially since Vic, Annette, and I share this wonderful month with our birthdays 🎂 May has been busy, we’ve had some gorgeous new bits arrive from fan favourites like James C Brett and King Cole. We’ve also had some gorgeous staff activities going on BTS, like the charity skydive and our in-house t-shirt design competition 💞
Spotlights in the Warehouse
Check out the latest from James C Brett, the Cotton Waves DK! This vibrant and super fun cake yarn comes in 10 mouthwatering colours. Get your knitting needles or crochet hook ready to dive into this yummy new 100% cotton DK yarn, packed with fab colour combos perfect for whipping up all kinds of playful clothes and accessories! They are also super cute to pick and pack 🥹
Noble Cotton Hand Dyed from Cascade Yarns is the new go to! This DK weight yarn is made from 100% mercerized cotton, so it’s super breathable and has a nice comfy drape. When you knit with it, your creations come out looking smooth and polished, plus they have this fabulous little sheen that makes them pop. With a wide variety of colours to choose from, it’s perfect for whipping up cool tops and cardigans for adults, or cute baby clothes and cosy blankets for the little ones.

King Cole have launched a new Crochet Along this month, which has been designed by the very talented Eleonora Tully. The Festival Fever blanket is full of colour and fun stitches, meaning you won’t get bored. It comes in two fabulous yarn packs, one uses Cottonsoft and the other uses Big Value DK, both which complement the upcoming festival season 💃🕺
Also this month, we have exciting news from Janie Crow! She has introduced a fabulous free course called Zero to Granny Square, available on her YouTube channel and website. You’ll discover helpful information on the basics, like how to hold your hook and choose the perfect yarn. The resources will inspire you as you master the basic stitches. Once you begin your journey, you’ll quickly grasp abbreviations and learn how to confidently follow a pattern with her expert guidance!
We have finally got some of the new KnitPro crochet hook and knitting needle sets in! Each KnitPro set combines best quality knitting needles or crochet hooks and accessories with elegant storage solutions, ensuring you have the perfect tools for any project. We particularly enjoy the Dreamz sets, which is polished birchwood in radiant colours!
Some Staff Activities
This month we’ve had a few staff activities. We held a t-shirt designing competition, where staff got to create their own t-shirt designs for staff to wear. We had some excellent entries, and we all got to vote for the design we most liked… the new t-shirt design will be shown soon 👕 Another big activity this month was our charity skydive for Myton Hospice, 10 incredible woolly workers raised over 6k in aid of Myton.
