We’re well and truly in the midst of cosy season and I, for one, am loving it! It’s the time of year when the tree’s up, the twinkly lights are on and the whole house is basically running on candlelight. It’s safe to say it’s a fave of mine!
Thinking of themes of the season and, for some, the season of giving, I’m excited to talk about what’s new to the fabric room and what you’ve all been loving at the moment. Let’s get started…
Golden – Makower ✨
In keeping with all things shimmering, I thought we’d take our first moments of the round-up to talk about a collection that’s captured your hearts this month! Detailed with stunning metallics, Makower’s Golden has been quite the fan favourite this November.
As soon as Golden hit the floor, we were cutting your lovely orders! Resonating with so many of you, this collection has certainly become quite the powerhouse and, in the fabric room, an overnight sensation. With apparent nods to Klimt and Art Noveau, Golden offers opulence in its design, giving quilters the opportunity to really have fun with its prints when assembling your next masterpiece.

With previous similar ranges such as Luxe, Golden offers interesting pattern work in a number of designs. With it being such a fan favourite, we’re super curious to see what you’ve all been using it for. Be sure to send us your photos, as we’d love to see your latest quilting creations! Kaffe Fassett – Irons 💙
We’re passionate about prints and we’re thrilled to see the king of vibrancy teaming up with Oliso to bring you two brand new Irons! Yes, Kaffe Fassett’s latest additions to the warehouse are extremely hot off the press, indeed.
Quintessentially Kaffe, both irons are featured in a stunning blue with flashes of his designs, with his logo stylishly printed on the hot plate. Not only are these irons perfect for any Kaffe Fassett fans, Oliso’s key features are also setting out to impress.
The M3Pro Mini Project Iron (pictured far right) is small but mighty. Fitting comfortably in the palm of your hand, the iron also comes with a built in LED light – perfect for pressing with precision! Inside the main box, the Mini Project Iron comes presented in a beautiful tin, showcasing Kaffe’s stunning artwork and, although not pictured, the set also comes complete with a ‘solemate’ – a silicone rest for the iron when not in use. For more information on the M3Pro Mini Project Iron and it’s full spec, simply click HERE.

Taking things to the next level, however, is the Smart TG1600 Pro Plus Iron. As you open the box to the Smart Iron, you’ll be greeted by a welcoming and thoughtful message from Kaffe, inspiring you further to continue with your creations. Yet past Kaffe’s message, there’s more to discover!
Combining features alongside the Mini Project Iron with its Diamond Ceramic Flow™ soleplate and the two-inch detailer tip, the TG1600 also comes with its most impressive feature of all – the enhanced Never-Lift technology. Helping to alleviate the worry of burns and wrist strain, the Never-Lift technology lifts and lowers the iron with the touch of your hand, reacting to both pressure and the absence of use. Best Of The Rest – Kaffe Edition!
What with our November being a little gloomy to say the least, we thought we’d try and brighten those incoming December days by sticking with Kaffe for our Best Of The Rest segment! Globally known for his use of bold prints and vivid colourways, Kaffe Fassett’s been a cornerstone of design in the quilting world for decades.
Since the launch of our Fabric department, Kaffe’s collections have always proved popular, with some of his designs becoming quite the staple of the room itself! His main collection holds favourites such as Roman Glass, Millefiore, Lake Blossoms and more, alongside the visitor of a truly stunning collaboration with Morris & Co.

When this collab crossed our desks, we knew we had to stock it. Not only did we love it, but we knew all you lovely quilters would, too. Each design is such a celebration of creativity, creating a hybrid collection that we feel will continue to be spoken about in years to come. Via their website, Free Spirit offers about the collection:
[…] Marvelously re-coloured through the masterful lens of Kaffe Fassett, this collection features much-loved and iconic designs that speak to William Morris’ fascination and love for nature, as well as designs that were inspired by medieval textiles, papers, and more. The timelessness and intriguing scale of these gorgeously alive designs are mood-lifting in Kaffe’s fresh spring colours.
Both powerhouses have ticked those boxes and then some. You can view the full Kaffe x Morris collection HERE, alongside Kaffe’s rolling ranges HERE. For further inspiration, be sure to check out our Book Club post on his book Timeless Themes, a title which delves into his passion for quilting, his inspirations, as well as a wealth of ideas for you to utilise, too!
That’s it from us for this November; we hope you’ve enjoyed it! Don’t forget to check out what Alex has got in store for this month’s yarn and projects, alongside all things needlecraft!
